''One step... after another... just... move... agh... f*ck'' - Garou had made it over to a side of a forest, with city U only barely visible.

He put the boy carefully down to inspect him closer. The bleeding had eased, but that wasn't the only alarming thing. There were cuts and bruises all over him.

Garou wanted to check boys pulse, when he noticed his own hand looking almost withered. It felt itchy and biting, his whole body did after the poisoning.

''Agh shit. This is really getting on my nerves'' - he quit looking at himself and checked the boys pulse.

''Phew..'' The boy had a pulse, faint, but noticeable ''At least it wasn't for nothing huh?'' - garou sat beside him. ''Where to now?"

He looked at the city in distance. Or rather the smoke that was left behind. He was lost in thought a little, he looked back at the boy to study his face a little.

''Hm...nothing particular about you turd. But don't think i've forgiven your debt'' - Garou stretched. Then he noticed a single car going out of a side road and driving off with full speed.

''Hmm'' - Garou had an idea to go on the side road, there has to be a house those people drove out from. ''Could use that place to stay for now. What do you say?'' - Garou picked up the boy again with a smirk. ''agh, you're not getting lighter, you little shit, just... must press on''

He stepped on the side road, it was a plain dirt path leading into the forest. The sun was about to go down, so if he wants to reach the supposed house he needs to hurry. Garou entered a sprint mode, using the remaining energy to boost through the dirt path and find any refuge there might be.

Several minutes later there was still no sight of any house, no branching paths and no signs indicating ownership of any land. ''Dammit, do those people live on a field?''

He kept running, his knees near failing. The little rest he made after the highway wasn't enough to carry him much further. What's worse is if there's a house then it will be all dark, making it even harder to find after dawn of sun. ''Maybe they left some lights on in hurry'' - he thought to himself, though trying to push the thought away as it would only give him false hope.

At last Garou stopped panting ''It's no use... there is no FUC*ING HOUSE HERE!'' - He yelled in the sky, letting out his frustration. ''But... the road just keeps going.. it has to end somewhere'' He took another step, he could barely see at this point, even his sharp eyes couldn't perceive this darkness in his fatigue.

He took another step, though he had no hope left in him and he hit something with his foot. the sound was hard, kinda metallic. He knelt to inspect the noise and touched around the ground with one hand ''Huh? A... mailbox'' - He immediately shot up and ran to right ''Yes, there's a dividing path here! We found it turd'' - Garou panted in relief

Soon enough he found a wall ''Now.. door.. where's the bloody door?'' - Garou walked around the house searching for any entrance. At last he felt a knob and.. the door was locked.

Seriously? who locks a door in hurry? They don't plan to return do they? Well regardless, this is ours now.. (he looked on his back with furrowed brows and corrected himself) mine. If anything, you're my tenant.'' - Garou kicked the door open with no mercy.

Locating the light switches and bedroom was easy. All that was left.. was to finally rest. Garou put the boy in a bed opposite to his.

''Sleep well'' - Garou said in an emotionless tone, though feeling a hint worry and sorted himself in his bed ''There might not be much rest for us here'' - he finally closed his eyes. Has it really been the entire dcay like this? Has he even blinked? Don't matter now, the hot flow rushed through his eyes as closed them. Making it hard to sleep for the first few minutes. Soon enough he fell asleep and snored like a bear, if he could afford it, he would sleep through the next week.

Next day:

Garou was dead asleep, he hadn't even put the blanket over himself. He trembled with sweat, the poison was getting worse yet currently there was no help to be had.

At around 11am Garou finally woke up huffing excessively. First thing that came to his mind was to check the other side of the room.
"Phew.." - he sighed in relief as he saw the boy in bed. His face then shifted to concern because he hadn't checked on him.
"Agh.. you're gonna be the end of me slam" - Garou tried to climb out of the bed, but he ended up falling out of it instead. With a slam on the floor he started crawling towards boy's bed.
When he got there he checked the pulse again and froze.

"SHIT!" - Suddenly near all feebleness left him as he scurried around the room for anything useful.
"Why.. why, agHh fff-f*ck!" - he started running around the house searching for any medical supplies. If he started with carrying the boy all the way here, he's gonna finish saving him.
Garou rushed back to the bedroom with all he could find.
First he wrapped around what little bandages he had, then he ran through pills and syringes, trying to find the most suitable ones for the boy.

"Hold on, don't you die on me!" - he tore open a paper package with tablets and pushed two in boys mouth. He won't swallow them, but maybe they'll melt down.
He held his palm on boy's forehead, it was hot. Badly so.
Garou sat besides the bed, almost hopeless and still exhausted. He still felt the poison running through him, but that didn't concerned him so much anymore.
*Gurgle* "ugh.. right. I'll be back buddy. We both need some food after all nervous chuckle"

Garou went down to kitche and looked through it. There was some bacon and lettuce that caught his attention.
"Could work" - He leaned in the fridge and began preparing something simple for the morning.
Garou was no expert in cooking, but as long as he could put two ingredients together, he was rather satisfied.

He went upstairs slowly as to not drop the plates. Once he got closer to the bedroom, he could hear a faint noise.
He stepped in the room and saw that the boy had started to breathe visibly.
This calmed Garou and put one plate next to boy's bed.
He stood up next to him. "Hm?"
One of boy's eyes was open and it was looking straight at Garou. The boy didn't speak, so Garou just told him "You need more rest, once you're ready, I got food for you"

Is he just gonna look at me? Say something dammit. Garou went back to his bed, peeping over his shoulder at the boy.

I hope he's not gonna be a problem. Otherwise I'm throwing him out. I made him food and waited before he wakes up so I can eat. Garou frowned before laying back down and having his breakfast in bed.
He then noticed the boy was reaching for the table where Garou put his plate. His moves where staggered and slow, the boy could only reach out one hand, but there wasn't enough strength to hold the plate.

Sigh, seriously? Garou stood up again and went to give biy his plate.
"Here. Don't waste it or you're not getting more" - Garou looked at him with a serious face.
The boy looked at rhe plate then back at Garou as if wanting to say thanks.
Garou just pushed out a quiet tch before going back.

"I.. know you"

Garou stopped, but didn't look back. He knows me huh?

"Garou.." - the boy said in a very weak, but sincere voice.

"Hah, well.. there's many who know me. What? You scared? Don't be, just consider yourself lucky" - Garou looked back slightly and dismissed the boy.

Garou heard no response from the boy so he was going to nap more but then:"I like monsters too, if only because they look cool..."

Garou snapped in place, this time a sweat drop of nervousness came down his forehead.
"What.. is that supposed to mean?" - Garou turned towards the boy while his mind was in turmoil. He started to recall his childhood.
I know that quote, but from where?
Why.. why am i remembering this? What's the point?

He just looked at the boy waiting for any explanation of what he just said.

"Cough yeah i remember you.. have you.. forgotten me?" - the boy continued.

Garou stood still, his mimd overflowing with memories.
I.. remember now, there was a time when I couldn't bear living as a child, as an outcast. And then one day i met boy. Some who didn't push me away just because I liked monsters. But it can't be.. "Ryan?"

"Ey... you do remember.." - Ryan cracked a smile bellow all his bandages - "We... got some catching up to do... soon"

"Yeah.." - Garou added
