The Appreciation Project

Partner Up!

Vada stared at the tiny dots of grey, black and white on her desk as the teacher droned on about another project, wishing with all of her might that she could disappear right then and there, geography was by far her least favorite subject.

" Now, for this project you will be able to work in pairs-"  the teacher was interrupted by the sound of cheering that filled the classroom, several hands shot up and asked if we could choose our own pairs. The teacher hesitated for a minute before replying, "Oh I suppose so, but only if your good!". "You have 3 minutes to pick your pairs" and with that she went back to her desk and resumed typing on her laptop.

Vada sat, lost, the teacher almost always picked their pairs, she scanned the class room for a partner but everyone seemed to have been taken already and she zero friends in her geography class. "Well now that everyone has their part-" she started only to be interrupted a second time this lesson by the sound of the classroom door being pushed roughly open.

Tyne Nelson waltzed coolly into the classroom his face plastered with his oh-so perfect signature smirk, charm and charisma practically oozing from him. He grinned at the teacher, who too looked hopelessly in love with him, and handed her his late pass "sorry I'm late, miss" he said smoothly with a wink ,"oh that's fine, why don't you take a seat" she replied as she took the small slip of paper, still in some kind of a trance.

"Now as I was saying, now that you all are in pairs I can now explain what you are required to do" "uh miss, sorry to interrupt, but I came in late so I don't have a partner" a deep voice piped up from the back of the classroom, "ah right Tyne I'm sorry about that I had a mental blank". Her eyes scanned around the room for partner-less people, "ah perfect, Vada doesn't have a partner either" there were snickers around the classroom as the teacher oh-so kindly pointed out the obvious, " you two can partner up!".
