Vada grudgingly pulled on her tattered, navy converse and threw a mustard coloured sweater over her head. She breathed out a sigh of annoyance, her parents aren't exactly what you would call easy going, there was no way she could just walk out the door of her house calling out to her parents as she left, "Oh, by the way Mum, I'm just going out to the park to meet with a hard ass guy from school, don't wait up!".
No, she needed a strategy, Vada walked over to the window of her bedroom, studying it, never had she ever done anything like this before, climbing out of windows was not something she would say was her forte. She studied the distance from the window sill to the ground outside, estimating that it was around a 3-4 metre drop. Okay so now that she figured that it would be safe to jump, she decided to take her plan into action. Vada threw her fluffy pink dressing gown around her body and ruffed up her already messy hair,
"Hey, mum!" she called groggily up from the top of the stair case,
"Yes?" Her mum called out from the lounge room.
"I was thinking of heading off to bed now, I'm not feeling all that great." she replied.
"Okay honey, I hope you feel better in the morning!"
"Thanks, mum, Good night".
The things that I do for people, Vada thought to herself as she striped from her dressing gown and headed over to the window ledge. She hoisted herself up onto the window sill and pushed the glass aside. This is it, she thought, this is the end of my life, she took one big breath and turned around, Vada grabbed hold of the window sill and let herself dangle there for a few moments before letting go. The fall only lasted a few terrifying seconds before she fell flat on her butt, Vada winced in pain, but brushed the dirt off her jeans and stood up. She looked around at her surroundings, it wasn't that dark, the quiet street had a few yellow street lights brightening it, and if worst came to worst, she always had her phone. The park wasn't that far away, probably about a five minute walk, Vada sighed and started walking towards the park.
About after 4 minutes of walking Vada felt something wet drip onto her nose, Great, just what she needed, rain, wouldn't that just make this the best day ever. The rain started out in a light sprinkle, before the heavens opened up and decided it would be hilarious to soak her from head to toe. Vada squealed out an indignant cry of annoyance and ran towards the barely visible sign, which indicated the entrance to the park. Vada ran to the undercover shelter and thanked God that she hadn't worn any makeup.
"So nice of you to finally join me" A sarcastic voice, which could only be Tyne, Said with a low chuckle. Vada spun around angrily and faced the egotistical teenager,
"Could you get anymore self- centered?!" She fired back hotly. He put a hand to his heart,
"Me?, Self centered?, Where ever did you get that idea?, Anyway, enough about me, Why are you all wet?" He asked with a smirk on his face.
"Ha ha that so hilarious, real knee slapper there Tyne" She told him sarcastically, a dead-pan expression on her face. Tyne slid down against the wall to the hard concrete floor, sitting cross-legged, he patted the ground beside him, Vada sighed and made her way over to where he was sitting and sat down beside him. She looked at him expectantly,
"Did you bring the sheets?" Vada asked,
"No" he replied simply,
"Great, this is just great of course you would do something like this, wouldn't you?" She said exasperated.
"Because I have something better in mind" He told her, the smirk was back on his face again,
"I'm not having sex with you" She told him warily a scowl on her face, His eyebrows shoot up in amusement,
"You know, Vada, not everything I think of is sex, But... Since you brought it up" He replied, waggling his eyebrows. Vada felt her face heat up in embarrassment,
"What is it then?" she asked pretending that he didn't just say that he wanted to have sex with her, Tyne pushed himself up to his feet and offered a hand to Vada, she took it gratefully, He didn't reply until they were standing facing each other,
"You're going to have to get in the car".
