Unknown person's POV :

"Did you manage to track her location?" I inquired.

Vincent nodded affirmatively, "Yes, sir. She was spotted at a nearby mall." After a brief pause, he added, "One of our operatives even made contact with her."

My curiosity was piqued, and I pressed on, "I see. But what was she doing there?".

It had been a week since she went missing. Our initial intention was to kidnap her, but it seemed she had other plans, having fled her own wedding.

Robert was furious, and I couldn't help but take pleasure in his misfortune. However, even I had been unable to track her down.

Vincent's next words made my blood boil, "She's been living with Christian Blackford, the soon-to-be ruler of the underground world."

His name was like a bitter taste in my mouth. Christian had always been a thorn in my side, a constant point of comparison throughout my childhood. He was the golden boy, exceling in every aspect.

But this time, I was determined to come out on top.

I wanted her, and I was convinced that she had always belonged to me.

Location : Blackford mansion.

Christian's POV :

I was taken aback by this new, fragile side of her personality.

For the very first time, She had been eerily quiet since that moment, as if she herself was uncertain about what had transpired.

"Ella?" I called out to her, and she slowly lifted her gaze, her eyes apologetic.

"It's okay," I reassured her, "don't dwell on it now" I paused to glance at the clock. "It's past midnight. You should get some rest" But she shook her head firmly.

"I don't want to sleep. I've been napping all morning, and I'm afraid I'll have those nightmares again." Her eyebrows were scrunched in frustration.

I sought to comfort her. "You won't have any nightmares. I'm here." She didn't respond, and we lapsed into silence, sitting together on the balcony, lost in the tranquility of the night, with only the moon as our companion.

The silence was comforting, and I didn't want to disrupt it, but my curiosity got the better of me.

"Can I ask, what happened earlier?" I inquired cautiously, careful not to make her uncomfortable.

She hesitated before responding, "I'm not sure. This was a first for me too." I had never seen her like this, i saw a glimmer of uncertainty in her eyes.

We both sat in silence once more, the only sound being the distant hum of crickets.

Then, Out of the blue, she asked,

"Can you sing me a lullaby?"

Her eyes sparkled under the moonlight. As the moonlight danced across her features, her beauty took on an ethereal quality, as if she were a creature from another realm.

"Chris?" she called out softly.

I stuttered, "W-what?" It was a first for me, too - stuttering, being rendered speechless by someone's beauty, and earning a nickname.

Why was I experiencing all my these 'firsts' with her?

"Why are you feeling uneasy?" She asked, pulling me out of my thoughts again.
