The sweet scent of food and coffee made Karen wake up from a dreamless night. She rubbed her eyes and started to stretch, still lying on the bed before noticing she was in an unknown bedroom. She quickly sat down looking around, hoping to find someone; but she was the only one in there. She stood up and searched around the whole room for her jeans and Converse, noticing she was only wearing some male boxers, yet underneath them her own underwear (thank god). Her attempt to find her stuff was useless, so she decided to give up and consequently left the room.
She poked her face through the door, making sure no one was around. She walked out, casting a quick glance to her left, noticing her clothes were in the bathroom. She slowly made her way towards it, when she heard a noise coming from the kitchen. She rapidly introduced herself in the restroom, shutting the door behind her.
While she did her needs, she tried to remember where exactly she was; but still being a little dormant, it was somewhat hard. As cliché as it may sound, without her morning coffee she was a mess; not exactly a morning person. She washed her face to awake herself at least a little more and as she splashed the water, the memories came rushing back to her mind.
"Ville Valo." She said in a sharp breath.
Water drops were falling off her face, so she grabbed a towel to dry herself up. She went through everything that Ville and she had done the night before, hoping it was nothing inappropriate; fortunately, that was not the case. She was never the type of having one night stands, or have sex at the very first date.
Not that last night with Ville could be considered a date, but still.
She started to put on her jeans, without taking off the boxers Ville had lent. She suddenly began to feel really nervous to leave the bathroom; what would she say to Ville if she encountered him.
"If"? That's not an "if", she would most certainly encounter him once she went out, after all, it was his apartment.
Without analyzing it one more second she decided to open the door and try to sneak out without being noticed by the one and only. Of course, that wouldn't work. What was she thinking? Specially not when she bluffly opened the door, making her collide with Ville's chest.
"Shit! Sorry." She said, embarrassed; blushing.
"It's alright, sweetheart." He chuckled. "I just wanted to let you know that I made you breakfast." He smiled sweetly. "And it's ready." He stated.
She felt a little confused.
"Why would he make me breakfast?" She thought to herself.
"We met just yesterday, and it's not like we had sex or anything...right?"
She reviewed last night over and over again; trying to remember what could they've possibly done for him to act this way.
As she continued to be lost in her own thoughts, Ville gently pushed her from the small of her back into the kitchen. The smell of breakfast became stronger and stronger with every step they took. And boy, did it smell delicious.
Still, she couldn't actually believe that Ville Valo had make her breakfast; but she walked into the kitchen and she finally believed. On the table laid a pile of freshly made pancakes; for a moment she thought they were one of those that you could just buy in boxes at any store, put them in the microwave and voila! But she noticed all the mess he'd make around the kitchen and she knew; he had made them himself.
Ville politely walked Karen to the table and pulled out a chair for her to sit.
"Why? Why is he doing this?" She kept thinking to herself as he poured them both some coffee.
