Just before the movie ended, the screen went black, and the lounge became silent; after a few seconds the people started whispering between each other. A few more seconds passed, and then Karen started become inpatient.
“Refund! REFUND!” This made Ville and all the people in the room to start laughing.
“You’re funny.” He said, still laughing.
“No. I’m just psychotic. They cut the movie right in the climax! You know what that means?”
“What?” He asked, curiously.
“There’s no going back.” She said, with a serious expression all over her face. Ville stared at her a couple seconds, examining herr expression, and then started laughing again.
“There’s no going back for what?” He replied, still laughing. Karen took a deep breath before giving her speech.
“For the inspiration! You know how you feel ‘in the movie’ when you’re watching it? Well that’s not coming back at all! Now I’m back to the real world, where I am sitting in a movie theater, with normal people sitting around me, and Ville Valo.” She made a short pause.
“Well, that last part’s not so bad, but still, they screwed up the illusion.” She said disappointed.
Ville couldn’t help but to gaze at her marveled for a short of time. She noticed this, then started to blush, and looked away.
“I’m sorry; you must think I’m crazy.” She said, embarrassed.
“It’s alright, sweetheart. I think you’re awesome.” He said with a smile on his face.
They finally put the movie back, and as soon as it started Karen turned away to the screen, blushing once more. She could fell Ville’s perfect green eyes still upon her.
The movie ended. Both of them walked out of the theater room.
“Hey, I need to go to the bathroom.” She said while slowing down, and turning to the restrooms.
“Ok sweetheart. I’ll wait for you outside.”
Ville watched her as she disappear into the bathroom while smiling to himself like a teenager in love for the first time. He went outside and took a cigarette and a lighter out of his pocket. In every smoke he’d take he just kept thinking on what a wonderful night he was having with this gorgeous girl. He just keep wishing it didn’t have to come to an end, so he started thinking of ways to spend some more time with this wonderful girl.
“She’s so awesome, so pretty, she just goes against the flow, she’s happy…” He kept thinking to himself, and then he remembered how messed up she was a few hours ago, when he first saw her splendor, despite the fact she seemed broken hearted.
He wanted to know why she was like that; he wanted Karen to tell him her story, he wanted to know who could possibly hurt such a beautiful creature. Ville perceived a voice behind him, but he was so lost in his own thoughts that he didn’t even bothered to turn around.
"Hey! I’m ready.” Karen raised her voice a little, while he turned around startled. “Are you okay?” She said confused.
“Yeah, no, I’m okay. Just thinking.” He replied while pulling the ash off the cigarette. “You don’t mind me smoking, do you?” He asked politely, ready to put down the cigarette if she bothered.
“Not at all. And even if I did, we’re outside, so there’s pretty much anything I could do.” She replied smiling.
“Not really, but I would put it down just for you love.” She blushed and looked away. He just kept staring at her, with a smile on his face. Then he noticed she was shaking.
