Once again trigger warning for eating disorders and mild drug use!
__________________________________"What would you like for dinner?" Olivia prompted, rifling through the empty cupboards as Hazel dumped her hospital bags back in her bedroom. "You don't have to stay with me Liv, I'm perfectly capable of looking after myself." Hazel snapped, rolling her eyes at her boss and supposed friend, who she felt was acting far more like a babysitter than a friend right now. "I don't have to but I want to, you've been through a lot in the past few days Hazel and to be honest I'm quite concerned about you." Olivia stated simply, wishing the girl would just accept her help. "Yeah well look where that concern ended us." Hazel sneered, turning sharply to head towards the only room in this house with a goddamn lock. Olivia pinched the bridge of her nose and sighed, busying herself with the task of making something edible from the very limited resources she could find. Only further confirmation the girl had relapsed, she thought sadly. Eventually she settled on sandwiches with the slices of bread that weren't mouldy and started a pot of coffee, hoping the familiarity would provide Hazel with some sort of comfort. When Hazel emerged from the bathroom, Liv wordlessly set the plates down on the table, gesturing for her younger detective to join her. "What is this." Hazel hissed, narrowing her eyes as she glanced at the food laid out on the table and then back up at Olivia. "Dinner." she stated simply, staring right back at Hazel unwaveringly. "I'm
not hungry." she grumbled, storming straight past the kitchen island and into the living room. Olivia followed her, and just as quickly as Hazel's anger had flared, the guilt began to set in. "Look Liv, I'm sorry," she started off in a small voice, staring intensely down at her hands. "I appreciate it, I do. You're welcome to stay and have some food but I'm really not hungry, and if it's okay I think I'm just going to go to bed." "I understand that Hazel, but your body needs the energy. You haven't so much as touched food since you were admitted to hospital. Just a few bites, and then you can do whatever you want and I'll leave you alone." Olivia pushed, really quite uncomfortable with the thought of letting her detective go another day on minimal food consumption, especially now she didn't have an IV for fluids or nutrients. "GOD DAMMIT OLIVIA I SAID NO!" Hazel screeched and Olivia took a step back in surprise at the sudden outburst. "WHY CAN'T YOU JUST LISTEN TO ME FOR ONCE? YOU PUSH AND YOU PUSH AND YOU JUST DON'T KNOW WHEN TO STOP. I'M DONE." She yelled, storming out the apartment and slamming the front door shut behind her.Olivia sighed, running a hand through her knotted hair as she paced the living room. Every fibre of her being wanted to chase after the girl, drag her back kicking and screaming if she had to, but she knew deep down that she just couldn't do that. Hazel was an adult, and as much as Olivia wanted to disagree, she was allowed to make her own choices. All she could do was wait and pray for Hazel to come back.

Olivia could hear giggling, followed by the sound of the key in - or trying to be put in - the lock. Was that two voices she could hear? The door swung open and through the shaft of light Olivia could see the figure of a girl she could only assume to be Hazel stumble into the darkness laughing hysterically, followed by another figure placing a finger to their lips, shushing Hazel comically before pinning her against the wall. Olivia watched in horror as their hands began to explore eachother's bodies, the man barely making it to Hazel's underwear before Olivia coughed sharply. The man spun round in surprise and horror, hissing "I thought you were bringing me back your empty apartment." "Livvyyy why are you still here?" Hazel drawled, before whispering "don't ask her to join us, she doesn't look very happy" and putting a hand to her mouth as another giggle left her lips. Olivia narrowed her eyes at the nameless man standing in front of her, and sensing the moment had passed, he whispered to Hazel "call me any time" before slinking out the door, shutting it behind him. Hazel then turned towards the older woman stood in her living room, frowning slightly before placing her arms across her chest and huffing. "He likeddd me Liv" she whined, "and you made him leave." Olivia took a hurried step towards her detective who was rapidly slumping back against the wall, assuming she was drunk. As she stepped closer, she noticed the dazed look in Hazel's eyes and she stopped dead as she acknowledged the smell that had followed the pair into the apartment. "Hazel are you...high?" Olivia reeled, slightly shocked as she grabbed the detective's upper arms and shook her slightly. "What do you care if I am?" Hazel snapped, her slightly induced relaxed nature being quickly replaced with the hostile one Olivia had experienced earlier. "I care because it's illegal," Olivia snapped, pausing and pinching the bridge of her nose before continuing in a lower tone of voice, "...and i'm worried about you." she admitted. "I mean come on Hazel, were
you really going to sleep with a guy you just met, high as a frickin kite?" She asked. "What I do with my free time is none of your damn business." Hazel bristled, shoving Olivia away and storming into the bedroom.
