Alex traveled to the newly formed commonwealth. He watched the TV that night as the results came pouring in.
"Exit polls indicate Corruption as the major issue, this favors Ivanov" said Liam Shepard on NANN.
At 7:00 pm Polish time the polls closed and the first results came in.
"Ivanov has swept Kyiv and all the major cities of Ukraine except the Donbas. Donetsk and Luhansk are currently to close to call" Shepard said and then he continued "Ivanov's stronghold's are expected to be with educated people and Women, major cities are expected to go to Ivanov."
"Radziwiłł has narrowly won Łodz, but is behind in Warsaw. He is leading in Klaipėda, Lithuania but that won't save him from the results now coming in from Krakow" Shepard said and then continued "Krakow has been won by Ivanov, he is currently narrowly leading in Warsaw with 51% of the vote but it is still too close to call."
The night wore on "We can now project that most of Belarus excluding Grodno oblast has been won by Ivanov. Ivanov with an impressive 70% in Minsk. Vilnius is also extremely close "Ivanov currently behind narrowly in Vilnius but the mail in ballots have only just started to be counted".
At 11 pm Polish time Shepard announced "After being behind most of the night in Vilnius, we can project that Ivanov has won the city narrowly squeaking out a 51% win. Ivanov currently leading with a total of 62% of the popular vote nationally so far"
At exactly Midnight a major projection was made. "Yuriy Ivanov has won Warsaw, this has led the AP to make the decision to call the race for Ivanov. Yuriy Ivanov has been elected the first king of the United Commonwealth."
The TV cut to Yuriy's rally in Mariupol , his home city. The city had been won by Ivanov with 99% of the vote.
"Victory at last!" Yelled Yuriy to the cheering crowd. "We have defeated the enemy, but now is a time of unity, no matter who you voted for I will dedicate the rest of my life, my reign, to you. I will be dedicated to all Lechians!" (the name decided for the people of the commonweath)
Alex Garner watched with pride as the crowd chanted "Regnal name! Regnal name! Regnal name!".
Yuriy Ivanov said simply "I'll be Yuriy I".
The crowd applauded the King Elect.
