𝐈 𝐁𝐎𝐋𝐓𝐄𝐃 𝐔𝐏𝐑𝐈𝐆𝐇𝐓, blinking in shock as she stormed into the room. My annoyance flared instantly, but I kept my voice low, teeth gritted. "Sofia, keep your voice down. Have you lost it? How did you even get in here?"
Ignoring me, she shoved her phone in my face, a stream of photos on the screen. Pictures of Catalina lounging on my couch, in my room, looking effortlessly...perfect. Her expression was seething, her tone venomous. "Explain this. Now."
I exhaled, fighting back the urge to snap. "It's nothing, alright? They are just pictures. Nothing happened."
But Sofia's face contorted, her eyes glistening as her voice cracked. "Nothing happened?" she choked, and her desperation caught me off guard. "Rafe, she's taking you from me. She always gets what she wants. You don't see it, but I do."
The pity I might have felt for her disappeared as she kept going, her words suffocating the room. A sick sense of satisfaction filled me as I let out a low, cold laugh. "And what if she is?" I asked, every word dripping with disdain. "We're not even together, Sofia. Why can't you get that?"
Her face drained of color as she stared at me, her mouth trembling. "I knew it. You're sleeping with her, aren't you?"
I met her gaze, letting my lips curl into a half-smile. "Not yet," I said, savoring the look of horror on her face. "But she's flawless, Sofia. Everything you're not. And that's what makes you so damn insecure, isn't it?"
She looked like she'd been slapped, her breathing shallow and uneven. For a moment, she just stood there, as if she couldn't quite believe what I'd just said.
"Rafe..." she whispered, voice shaky. "How could you say that?"
"Because it's the truth," I replied coldly. "I'm tired of pretending, tired of you thinking you own me."
Her eyes hardened as her sadness twisted into pure fury, and she straightened, pulling herself together. Her voice was low, laced with venom. "Fine. I'll go. But don't think this is over. I'll ruin her, Rafe. I swear I will."
With that, she spun on her heel and stormed out, slamming the door so hard the walls shook. The silence that followed was heavy, tense. Her words hung in the air like a threat, echoing in the back of my mind as I lay there, staring at the door she'd just walked out of.
God please give me a break
I settled back onto the pillow, hearing the door creak open just enough for Catalina to slip in. "You heard it, didn't you?"
She nodded, closing the door behind her softly, her lips curling into that familiar smirk. "Only the part of you being obsessed with me."
I let out an exasperated sigh, muttering, "Of course, noisy little—"
