𝐈 𝐍𝐎𝐓𝐈𝐂𝐄𝐃 𝐖𝐇𝐄𝐍 𝐈 𝐖𝐎𝐊𝐄 𝐔𝐏 how warm I felt. I blinked a few times, adjusting to the sunlight spilling into my room, and then I remembered. He was still here.

I rolled over slightly, and there he was, lying on his stomach, his face pressed into my pink pillow. It was such a sight—this strong, tough guy looking completely out of place but somehow so perfect in my overly feminine bed. I couldn't help but smile to myself.

For a moment, I just watched him sleep, his shoulders rising and falling with each slow breath. He looked so peaceful, so different from his usual cocky, guarded self. I reached for my phone on the nightstand and checked the time. 11 a.m.

Brunch. Fuck. I had brunch with some of Adriana's friends in two hours, and I already knew neither of us wanted to go. Those girls were the definition of fake—money-obsessed, judgmental, and only pretending to like each other. The thought of sitting at a table with them made me want to groan.

I glanced back at Rafe and couldn't stop myself from smiling again. He had shifted slightly in his sleep, and I couldn't resist—I grabbed my phone and quickly snapped a picture of him. It was too funny seeing someone like him in this setting, and I'd definitely keep it for myself.

I put my phone back down and slid closer, running my fingers lightly down his back. His skin was warm under my touch, and after a moment, he stirred.

He turned onto his side, pulling me into his arms like it was the most natural thing in the world. His voice was low and groggy when he murmured, "Good morning."

"Good morning," I said back, smiling softly as I gave him a quick kiss.

"How much time is it?" he asked, his voice still heavy with sleep.

"Eleven," I said. "Do you have to be somewhere?"

He groaned softly, shifting onto his back. "Yeah, I gotta drive Sienna somewhere in a few hours."

"Can you drop me off at brunch first?" I asked, giving him a sweet smile.

He smirked, his teasing tone kicking in. "Brunch, huh? Who's so important you need to see them on a Sunday morning?"

I rolled my eyes. "Just some of my friends."

"Yeah? Thought Adriana was your only real friend."

"She is," I admitted with a small laugh. "But we're meeting up with some girls we both barely like. Fake smiles, fake laughs, you know the deal."

"Sounds awful," he said, smirking as he pulled me closer.

"It will be," I agreed.

I felt a strange warmth spread through me as I got up to get ready. This side of Rafe—the one who wanted me around—was one I wasn't used to, but I liked it. Maybe too much.
