As the sun dipped below the horizon, the world around Mina grew darker, and the air was charged with anticipation. She was brought inside the circle, her heart racing with nerves. It was almost palpable; anyone could sense her anxiety. Hyunjin leaned in, whispering softly, "Only look at me." She nodded, seeking comfort in his steady gaze.
As the chanting began, Mina felt a wave of fear wash over her. She glanced at Hyunjin again, but the energy of the moment swept her up. Soon, she was closing her eyes, and with a sudden jolt, she found herself rising into the air, transported to another dimension. It was a normal occurrence in the ritual, but it felt surreal, as if she were slipping into a dream.
In this dream, Mina found herself in the twilight of the Devil Realm, wandering freely with Hyunjin. Their laughter echoed off the ancient stone walls, a stark contrast to the dark surroundings. They had just come from a vibrant celebration held in the heart of the demon city, filled with music, dancing, and endless delights.
Mina twirled in her elegant gown, the fabric shimmering like starlight. "Look at me, Hyunjin! I feel like I'm floating!" she giggled, her spirit light and carefree.
Hyunjin leaned against a nearby pillar, arms crossed, a proud smile lighting up his face. "You always know how to steal the show, don't you?" He admired her, his usual cold demeanor melting away in her presence.
As the festivities faded into the distance, they found themselves in a secluded garden, where the air was sweet with the scent of night-blooming flowers. The moonlight bathed the space in silver, and it felt as though they were the only two beings in existence.
"Do you remember when we first met?" Mina asked, sitting on a stone bench, her eyes sparkling with nostalgia. "You were so serious, standing alone in that corner."
Hyunjin chuckled, sitting beside her. "I was trying to avoid the other demons. But then you came along, and everything changed." He nudged her playfully. "You made me laugh."
"Me? I thought I was just annoying you!" she teased, nudging him back.
"Not at all," he said, turning to face her, his expression softening. "You showed me that there's more to life than just power and fear. You made me want to live, not just exist."
Mina blushed, her heart swelling with affection. "And you showed me what it means to be strong, to stand up for what you believe in." She reached out, taking his hand in hers, feeling the warmth radiating between them.
In that quiet moment, they shared a connection deeper than words. They were not just devils bound by fate but two souls finding solace in each other.
"Let's promise to always find our way back to moments like this," Mina whispered, her voice barely audible.
Hyunjin nodded, squeezing her hand gently. "Always."
As they sat beneath the stars, dreams and laughter intertwined, they believed they could conquer any darkness together. In their hearts, they knew they were more than just devils; they were each other's light.
But lurking in the back of their minds was the understanding that their world was fraught with danger, and their love would soon face trials they could never imagine.
Suddenly, Mina gasped and caught her breath, waking up back in reality. She blinked, disoriented, and saw Hyunjin sitting beside her on the bed.
"What are you doing? Aren't we supposed to be in the ritual?" she asked, confusion etched on her face.
"What ritual? Are you crazy?" he responded, concern flooding his eyes.
Mina felt a wave of questions rise within her. "What about the Council of Devils? What about our kiss? Was any of it real?" She peppered him with inquiries, desperate for answers.
"Those things never happened; you must have been dreaming," he said gently, trying to reassure her.
Mina felt the weight of her thoughts pressing down on her. She needed time to think. "I'm going to the park," she informed him, stepping out into the cool evening air. As she walked, her mind raced with questions. *What's happening? I'm supposed to be a devil. Why am I back on Earth? Was that all a dream? What about our kiss? It felt so real!*
Her thoughts were interrupted when she heard Hyunjin calling her name. She stopped and turned, seeing him approaching. "I was worried about you. You look so pale," he said, concern evident in his voice.
"Nothing, I just had a weird dream," she replied, trying to brush it off.
"Wanna talk about it?" he asked, stopping beside her.
Mina nodded, feeling a mix of relief and uncertainty as she began to recount everything that had happened in the dream—the laughter, the garden, and the promise they made to each other.
Hyunjin listened intently, his eyes widening in fascination. "Even in Hell, we're destined to be together, I guess. We're meant to be, Mina," he said, and as he finished, he leaned in and placed a gentle peck on her lips, holding her hand tightly.
Mina's heart soared at his words. She felt a surge of happiness, realizing that it didn't matter if she was a devil or not; being with Hyunjin was what truly mattered. She chose to see the dream as an experience, a glimpse into their intertwined fates, and embraced her life with him fully.
Together, they walked through the park, hand in hand, ready to face whatever challenges awaited them.
THE END.
