The Sprint Of Survival

That was so massive that she clenched her jaw in aggression. Sinalubong niya ang napakalaking troso na patungo sa kaniya, wala siyang balak na umiwas, kung iiwas siya'y mababawasan ang oras niya patungo sa kaniyang Ina. She just wants to take the straight direction lucidly.

"Ma!"

"Anak!"

"Hindi mo na siya maabutan! Sumuko ka na!"

Just then, a loud bang thundered the forest. Sinalubong niya lang naman ng isang malakas na sipa ang trosong lumipad tungo sa kaniya. Pagkatapos ay umikot-ikot siya sa ere upang iwasan ang mga punyal patungo sa kaniyang direksyon at hinablot ang mga pana sa ere na lumampas sa kaniya.

"You will lose your mom!"

Her eyes got teary, "No!"

Mula sa kaniyang vision ay bumagsak na ang kaniyang Ina, itinaas nito ang kamay upang abutin siya. Naghuramentado na siya, triple pa sa triple ang kaniyang bilis pag-akyat ng bundok. She's depressed, she's desperate to save her mom.

"Ililigtas ko ang mama ko!"

From that moment, she disappeared on her post like the wind. All the hovering things approaching her met each other, it created a clashing sound. But she doesn't care for she was not there anymore, she's already at the summit reaching the hand of her mom.

"Ma!"

She made a big jump to reach her mom, she saw her bright smile and her tears fell as if it was snow amidst summer.

"You did very well..." Her mom mouthed her.

"Haaa!" She yelled and extended more of her to reach her mom, but before she could finally hold her hand, Almira disappeared along exactly the moment her tears reached the land, "MAMA!"

Bumagsak siya sa lupa, hindi niya napigilang umiyak. She misses her mom so bad, she feels so empty, now that she has seen her again...it feels like the hole of her heart extended more. She's not contented with that smile, she wants to see her, to hug her so bad. Sobrang hirap malayo sa magulang mo, lalo na kung siya nalang ang natitira sa buhay mo.

She felt a tap on her shoulder, she immediately wiped her tears and stood up as if nothing happened. Nakangiti ang kaniyang guro sa kaniya, and there she realized...it was already dark.

"Look at what you've done." Saad nito at itinuro ang gubat. "Inabot ka na ng hatinggabi, gaano mo ba kagustong mabayaran ang mga utang mo...o makita ang nanay mo?"
