The ring - Vivian

My heart was torn
Looking at the shine on her finger
My mind willing to know
If this feeling will linger

Betrayal
Hurt
Guilt
Why'd she surrender

Why didn't I save her
To rescue her from that knight
That was my duty
To bring her to light

Her eyes like the ocean
Her hair like the sun
We could have been endgame
We could have just won

Why do I fight this
That terrible feeling
Wearing rose coloured glasses
Just a positive sprinkling

My view fogged with mist
Longing for some clarity
Just one more little moment of bliss

All it took was one short conversation
A few loving looks
And I can't help but wonder
Why did I get hooked

As I stare at the ring
Tears threatened to fall
Such a big amount of bling
On a hand so small
So beaten and frail
Not made to be a bride
Not made to wear a veil

Just a lone spirit
Longing to be free
Why did you choose him
It could have been me
