Eclipse of Desire
If Mama leaves Papa,
He'd rather drown in drink than sip coffee,
Choosing to gamble away his days,
Sinking into darkness, forsaking the light.
If my aunt never found a chance with my uncle,
He'd abandon all he holds dear,
Letting his world unravel,
Indulging in the fury that consumes him.
If my cousin's girlfriend chose to depart,
He might turn to a blade,
Walking a path shrouded in shadows,
Slowly extinguishing the light within.
But now my aunt finds peace,
She dared to love with her whole heart.
Yet she succumbed to the devil's grip,
Embracing an early death with a quiet sigh.
Since Lolo left Lola,
She seems to have withered,
Her heart drifting far from her children,
Opting for a life stripped of love's warmth.
I tremble at what love could do to me,
Afraid to follow the trail they left behind.
What if my burden exceeds their own?
And one day, love will lead to my undoing too.
