The atmosphere shifted dramatically as the heavy door swung open, revealing the king himself, his expression twisted with disdain. "You still haven't done anything to him?" he sneered, surveying the scene with cold indifference. "I was eager to see him hurt."

The guards exchanged nervous glances before they sprang into action, pinning Eugene down with harsh hands. "We were just getting started, your majesty," one of them said with a smirk, relishing the power they held over the crown prince.

Eugene's heart raced, and he cried out in desperation, "Father, stop this! I... I'm still your son!" His voice cracked with fear, the weight of betrayal heavy on his heart.

The king laughed darkly, a sound devoid of warmth. "You lost that title when you chose this wild fairy over the crown and royalty. Guards, why is he still wearing royal clothes? Take them off. He doesn't deserve them."

"No! Please, don't!" Eugene screamed, his voice filled with terror as the guards approached him, ready to strip away the last remnants of his dignity. He struggled against their grip, panic flooding his senses.

Riven's heart dropped as he witnessed the scene unfolding before him. "Please stop!" he shouted, desperation pouring from his voice. "Even if you don't see him as your son, he is still just a 19-year-old boy!"

The king's gaze remained cold and unyielding. "I don't care," he replied dismissively, turning on his heel to leave the room. The door slammed shut behind him, leaving Riven and Eugene to face the guards alone.

As the guards continued their advances, Riven felt his resolve shatter. "Stop!" he bellowed, fury coursing through him. "Get your hands off him!" But the guards ignored him, too engrossed in their cruel task to listen.

Eugene curled up, trying to shield himself from their hands as the last piece of fabric was torn away, leaving him vulnerable and exposed. He shut his eyes, tears streaming down his cheeks as he sobbed quietly, feeling utterly defeated.

With a surge of adrenaline, Riven finally broke the barrier connecting their cells, his fists flying as he fought off the guards. He didn't care about the consequences; all he could think about was protecting Eugene. With each punch, he pushed through the haze of anger, fueled by the need to save the boy he loved.

"Get away from him!" Riven yelled, throwing one guard to the ground and pinning another against the wall. The remaining guards hesitated, taken aback by his fierce determination.

Once the guards were dealt with, Riven rushed to Eugene's side, his heart aching at the sight of the crown prince, trembling and distraught. He quickly grabbed a nearby blanket, wrapping it around Eugene with tender care. "I'm here," he whispered, his voice soft and soothing as he held him close. "You're safe now. I won't let them hurt you."

Eugene leaned into Riven's embrace, the warmth of the blanket and the safety of Riven's presence providing a small measure of comfort. "Riven," he sobbed, burying his face against Riven's shoulder. "I'm so scared... I just wanted to be with you."

"I know, love," Riven murmured, running a hand through Eugene's hair as he held him tightly. "I won't let anyone take you away from me. You're not alone. We'll get through this together."

Eugene looked up, his eyes filled with a mix of fear and hope. "Will we really? Even with my father against us?"

"Yes," Riven affirmed, determination shining in his eyes. "We'll find a way. I promise. Just hold on to me."

As Eugene clung to Riven, the weight of the world felt a little lighter, the bond between them growing stronger amidst the darkness.

Riven's gaze narrowed at the guards still holding Eugene, who was now wrapped tightly in the blanket. "Give him back his clothes," he demanded, his voice low but firm.
