While Haoxuan was crying, his friends couldn’t decide whether to laugh or cry with him. "Why did you even have to say that?" Jiyang whispered to him. But instead of answering, Haoxuan hugged Jiyang tightly and began sobbing. “I just got to spend time with him, but now this is happening,” he said. Moments later, he suddenly stopped crying. "Where is Zanjin?" he asked Zhan’s friends. Almost as if someone had heard his question, his phone rang immediately. At first, he hesitated to answer, seeing it was an unknown number, but in the end, he picked it up.

“Zanjin is at Yibo’s old rest house,” the voice on the other end said before abruptly hanging up. Haoxuan looked at his friends, and without a word, they all understood what they had to do. They needed to leave immediately, as the police and army were on their way to the hotel building. Outside, the areas surrounding the explosion site were swarming with high-ranking officials, reporters, firefighters, and others, especially since the president had been caught in the blast.

Elsewhere, Yibo's parents were watching the news when Yiyi happened to pass by.  Yiyi froze when he saw his father’s name on the news. Even though his Dada’s name wasn’t mentioned, he knew that the two were together. Unable to move, he whispered. “I don’t believe it” then ran to his room and locked the door. Once inside, his phone rang and he quickly grabbed it hoping it was his parents calling. But when he saw it was his uncle Haoxuan an uneasy feeling washed over him as he answered the call.

“Hello, Uncle,” he greeted him. Haoxuan covered his mouth to hide his sobs so Yiyi wouldn’t hear him. Seeing Haoxuan’s struggle, Jiyang took the phone from him, and after a deep breath, he spoke.

“Yiyi, listen to me. Whatever happens, don’t watch the news. Tell your friends to behave, and we’ll be there tomorrow” Jiyang said firmly. Yiyi gripped his phone tightly, having already seen enough on the news. “Okay, Uncle, I’ll tell them,” he replied. After ending the call, he went straight to the room where his parents had talked with him before leaving.

...

That night, before Leo and Ace departed, they had spoken to Yiyi, letting him in on their mission. Even though Yiyi was young, he was sharp and knowledgeable; she’d always been by his Dada Ace’s side, watching him work on the computer. It was undeniable—he was the daughter of a mafia boss and the leader of an assassin group. Despite his age, he understood more than any child should. Ace had long believed that he needed this knowledge in case he wasn’t always there to protect him.

“We’re on a mission now, Yiyi. If you hear something has happened to us, wait three days for our call. If we still haven’t called by then, it means something beyond our control has happened” Leo had said, his words bringing Yiyi to tears as Ace sat listening. “What will happen to me and baby Yuyu if something happens to you both?” he cried. Ace hugged him tightly. “We’ll do everything we can to survive, Yiyi. We’re doing this so that one day, baby Yuyu can grow up without us having to hide, so we can live a normal life,” Ace said, and Leo joined their embrace. “And I believe our big brother Yiyi can handle everything we’ve entrusted you with” Leo added with confidence, bringing a small smile to Yiyi’s face as he hugged his parents. “I love you both so much; we’ll be waiting for you,” he whispered. “We love you too, Yiyi,” Leo and Ace replied in unison, each kissing one of his cheeks.

...

Now, sitting before his computer, Yiyi couldn’t help but cry. “Daddy, Dada, they’ve reported what happened to you, and Uncle Haoxuan will be here tomorrow. I’m also sending the link you asked for, containing the information on the man you’re looking for, including his location. I love you both so much,” he said, trying to hold back his tears. After turning off the camera, he sent the clip along with the data on the man they’d been tracking to an email only the three of them had access to. “This is for you to give you the strength to keep fighting,” Yiyi whispered, attaching a picture of himself with her baby sister. Before leaving the room, he wiped his tears, took a card and hid it in a book he planned to slip into Haoxuan’s phone to monitor the plans being made while hid parents’ location was still unknown. He locked the hidden door and rearranged the books to conceal any trace of it.
