"Going back to what Bubba said, he's right. We should be more careful. Yes, we've been here for more than a year, but that doesn't mean things won't change, and maybe... so will Coner! Maybe he'll be different this year. He says the principal has everything under control, and we should be fine."
(While the others talk, I stare out the window, thinking about what new and unique things will happen this year?)
"Yes, something bad happened last year... and the year before... and the year before that, but that's not the point! The point is... things will be different this time! I can feel it! This time we'll meet new people! And possibly make new friends! Especially since other new students will be attending our school. I hope I meet some of them!"
And maybe... a new member for the group or more!
We arrived at school at 8:10 AM. Bubba parked the van outside the school's parking lot, and we got out one by one. The critters and I made our way to the entrance and went in!
Dogday ☀️: "Looks like the halls are pretty crowded, huh guys!"
Kickin ⭐: "You're telling me, dude!"
Bubba 💡: "Let's just get our class schedules and see which classes we have."
*We got to the front desk, lined up, and got our class schedules*
Dogday saw his and looked disappointed.
Dogday ☀️:😢"Aww, man!"
Hoppy ⚡:🤨"What's wrong, Dogday?"
Dogday ☀️:😭"I don't have any of you guys in first period."
Bobby ❤️:🥺"Aw, don't worry, sweetheart. I'm sure you'll do fine!"
Kickin ⭐:😎"Yeah, man, it'll be alright."
Bubba 💡:🧐"Besides, you've got us in other periods, right! And hey, look! We can see each other at 6th period."
Dogday ☀️:😃"Yeah... yeah, I'll see you guys then... okay!"
Picky 🍎:😗"Don't forget, we'll save a seat for you at lunchtime!"
Dogday ☀️:😏"Of course not! I'll see you all then, bye!" 👋
All the critters: "Bye, Dogday!" 👋
I said goodbye to the other critters and walked down the hallway to my new class. While I was on my way, I passed by many new students who transferred here.
As I looked around, the school bell suddenly rang.
"Oh, shit!!! Dogday, you got distracted again! (Just like before)."
In a panic, I began running down the hallway as fast as I could to my classroom!
While running, I wasn't looking and bumped into someone.
In a daze, I opened my eyes to see who this person was. It was a purple feline! He wore a purple hoodie, black pants, and a moon 🌙 pendant around his neck. He had a big black bag and a hint of lavender.
I got up and helped him up too!
Dogday ☀️:😱"Oh my gosh... I'm so sorry! I was running and didn't see where I was going, and I bumped into you!"
?:🙂"I... it's all right. It looks like you're in a bit of a rush anyway."
Dogday ☀️:😗"Well, the bell just rang, so I hurried to get to class. Here, let me help you up."
?:🙂"Thanks!"
Dogday ☀️:😃"No problem!"
?:🤨"So... you... were saying you're late to class... or something?"
Dogday ☀️:😶"Oh yeah! I forgot. I hope to see you around sometime!"
I left the purple cat behind and went back to running.
"I gotta hurry! I can't be late on my first day back! _Unlike last year_."
Oh... I didn't get that guy's name!
