It had been six years since Minerva had run off from Scotland at eighteen - and also six years since she had last seen Dougal McGregor, her ex-fiancé. The Wizarding World was beginning to put the idea of a revolution for pureblood mania into action, as different old families in Britain began turning over to a force that even Albus Dumbledore associated with the fall of the great empire built for magic. Newspaper headlines were packed with newly found muggles all over England, dead, yet there was nothing found in the houses other than fragments of broken glass and a mark of a skull and snake.
Reality had begun to take a toil.
Houses of many, such as Lestrange and Black, most notorious for centuries of purity kept in the family (eg. inbreeding with cousins) had members whispering in the streets of a new organization, which would turn purebloods into the rulers of both the muggle and Wizarding world. Minerva had much to fear for, like her brothers and father. Her father, Robert McGonagall, was a muggle, as her lover, Dougal, therefore, put to risk. Her own life was challenged, since she was a half blood, and a known target for dark wizards.
They had been on the edge of a golden world.
