CHAPTER 2 - BANE OF TALENTS

3rd person POV:

Subaru, with newfound confidence, powers, weapons and clothes...

Geez that's a lot. Anyway continuing, He now walks to the place where he died before. He has a languid expression, as he enters the alleyways, to make him susceptible to robbery. Noticing such a easy prey, the three thieves who Subaru met in his previous life, surrounded him, one at the back and the other two at the front. Subaru, who was anticipating their arrival, found it hard to prevent his lips from going up. He placed his cover of appas down, and he looked up at them.

Subaru's POV:

"Oi brat you seem new around here, so allow us to help you with getting to know around and relieving you of your burdens" One of them, wielding a sword spoke with a smug expression, with the other two snickering. He didn't take out his dual blades the last time he met me, did he? Was it because I am carrying a sword, for which he decided to assert his dominance earlier than usual? But confronting them is the first step in overcoming my past self... which I think I left two minutes ago?

I spoke as I slowly unsheathe my sword, "well then, mind if I take a few lessons from you?" as I stood in a basic stance. Soon his smug expression crumbled as he growled," Dumb brat, it would have done you well if you chose to heed our words. But never mind, we'll do the usual and rob you to the last coin and that sword... I'll be taking that." and he rushed at me. I broke in a cold sweat, as I see him approaching. Since, I have the basic swordsmanship crammed into my head, I can clearly see that he is no amateur, but a complete noob.

Ok, it's a good thing I know how to use a sword before... although I don't know if wooden swords in kendo can be counted as one... I thought as I see him approaching me, the distance is less than 5 meters and rapidly closing. Well, as they saw the first strike wins!... I performed a downward slash it just as he is close enough. Not expecting that I would actually slash at him, he tried to back away but the momentum he built was too much and I ended up leaving a huge slash at his upper torso. Thankfully, it only cut his clothes and only grazed his chest, but that was enough for him to fall on his butt, from shock and fear.

Now for the others... I glanced to see, the other two, who were stunned, but were slowly recovering and planning to attack me from behind. Now I decided that it was the best time to use my skill. I have two beings in mind, but if the first happens successful, then I can be relieved that my choice wasn't in vain. Without a second to waste, I thought, since it feels stupid to reveal you moves verbally.

The Nemean Lion

The Nemean lion was a monster in Greek mythology, was known for its claws sharper than any sword and its golden skin which is impervious to all weapons.

Now all I need is a confirmation if it is possible. If it is, then... Damn I am getting goosebumps on what I might become in the future.
