Thorian awoke in a strange, dimly lit room strewn with soul gems, spell tomes, and scattered mage lights. The sparse space felt eerie, its emptiness accentuated by the glow of arcane artifacts.
As he rose from the cold ground, he noticed his attire: a flamboyant purple regalia that didn’t feel quite his own. Rubbing his forehead in confusion, he caught a glimpse of white hair interlaced between his fingers. Eyes wide, Thorian scrambled to his feet, disoriented.
“Is anyone here? Help!” he called, his voice echoing off the stone walls. Moments later, a peculiar-looking
Argonian entered, breaking the silence. Thorian pushed back against the wall, wary of the newcomer.“Sleeping here, eh?” the Argonian said with a gravelly tone. “But you’re far too loud, so out you go!”
“Who… who are you?” Thorian stammered, heart racing. The Argonian grinned, gesturing toward the ceiling, where an odd, otherworldly sky loomed.
“They call me Sees-The-Moon,” he replied, pride and madness flickering in his eyes. “Mother named me that at twelve—named for the moon, of course.”
“The moon?” Thorian asked, trying to ground himself. “Who… where am I?”
Sees-The-Moon’s expression turned wistful. “The moon, yes, where Mother is. But Lord Sheogorath won’t let me go there. Not yet…” His voice trailed off, but Thorian offered him a reassuring pat.
“One day, friend, perhaps you’ll find the peace you’re looking for,” Thorian said. “But first, I need to find Sheogorath.”
“Lord Sheogorath?” Sees-The-Moon pointed toward the border of Mania. “Head to New Sheoth. Just… steer clear of Dementia, or it’ll be the end of you!”
Grateful for the guidance, Thorian set off toward New Sheoth. As Thorian wandered through the eerie and vibrant land of Mania, he became captivated by the odd flora around him. Unfamiliar, colorful plants twisted up from the ground, casting strange shadows. He paused to sketch a bizarre, luminescent tree, admiring its surreal, otherworldly quality. But his brief moment of peace didn't last long.
