Jia's POV
I slam my body on the soft mattress of my bed, facing the ceiling with a fluorescent star stickers sticked on it. I smile. I was the one who put it up there. Everytime I wanna take a rest, I'd just look up and admire those cute stars twinkling like they're actually a real ones.
My thought was cut off when I heard my phone rings. I sit up from my bed and met myself's reflection from a body size mirror facing my bed. I was almost in shock of how tired I look.
I swear I just left home freshly showered and looking all chic and I went home fully haggard like what the hell.
I reach for my phone on the bedside table and check the caller I.D. It's my mom. I smile and immediately press the answer button.
"Hey mom." I greeted as I hear her chuckles through the phone.
"How are you doing, honey? How was your company?" Mom asked.
"The company's doing good as well as me, Mom. Fine as hell." I said and let out a small laugh.
"Ohh that is good to hear, Ji. I missed you so much."
Oh mom really knows how to make me soft.
"I missed you too, Mom. I cannot wait to see you after two weeks." I said thinking about the said date that they gonna return home.
"Oh that. We'll be back this, saturday." Mom suddenly replied and I turn around and look at my calendar placed on my study table beside the window. Saturday is this week.
I frown my brows.
"Oh really? Why the sudden change of heart?" I ask confuse but at the same time excited cause I will be seeing them after a long time.
"So we've got an invitation from Mr. Choi. You know him, right? You prolly know him." I tilt my head with my brows still frown and curious about it.
"Yeah, why? What's with the invitation?"
"An invitation to a welcoming party for his new business partner overseas. I've heard they're working on a new bigger project in south korea and the fact that he's having a welcoming party? His new business partner must have a lot on his plate. " Mom talked and I just listen. I like the way she's gossiping with this with me but also curious about Mr. Choi's welcoming party.
That new business partner of his must've be a successful one or has a big company overseas. Mr. Choi must be so happy.
"Do you have any idea about that new business partner of Mr. Choi?"
"No, I don't really. I just heard that he's successful, came from a wealthy family, and a billionaire." Mom really knows how to gossip, but I am liking it. I just chuckle at what she said.
"Hey, Ji. I am serious about it why are you laughing?" She said on the other line chuckling.
"I just missed how we both always love to talk and gossip about some things." I said recalling back.
"Awee. Don't worry I'll be back with a loads of talks that I cannot wait to tell you about." Mom said and a smile formed on my lips.
"I'll wait for you, mom."
"You better! But first, I want you to go out and ready yourself for the welcoming party. I'll send you some money to buy yourself a dress that you would wear at the party." Mom suddenly said.
"Wait, wait, does that mean, I'm going too?" I thought they're the only one invited.
"I can't just miss out my daughter who is a CEO of a successful cosmetic brand. You're coming with us, of course." Mom said and I just let out a giggle about how the way she said that.
