Marty stepped up on the bed, looking through the window. That's when he saw her. Annie. What the...did that mean her Citizen Plus treatment was done? Or is she okay? Marty tried to wave at her but it was of no use. The glass was sound proof. Marty fell back onto his bed. He had to get her attention somehow.
Marty asked the camera, "Dad?"
George replied, "How can I help, son?"
Marty told him, "I want to talk to Annie, is there any way you can help?"
George did a double take, "Annie's there? Is she okay?"
Marty admitted, "I don't know, can you let me talk to her? She's in the next room."
George replied, "Let's see, that'd be Waiting Room Beta. Got it! You're all patched in, son."
Marty was relieved. Maybe if it wasn't too late, he could get her help.
"Annie?" He asked, gaining her attention.
"Martin? Is that you? Where are you?" Annie asked, looking around the room.
Marty answered, "I'm over here, in the camera."
Annie frowned, "Oh, Martin, aren't you in enough trouble already?"
Marty perked up. That didn't sound good. "Trouble? Annie, what are you talking about?"
Annie stated, "You know, with the drinking and the P.D.A.'s."
Marty paled. He was too late. "You sound...different, Annie." He admitted.
"I don't sound different. I mean, sure I used to be but thanks to my first Citizen Plus treatment, I'm well on my way to becoming an average well-adjusted teenager." Annie stated.
Marty's face fell. So Uncle Robert really did go through it. "Not you too..." He complained. Marty commented, "Why's your door open?"
Annie explained, "Now that I'm finished with Citizen Plus treatment, I'm free to go whenever I want. I'm just waiting for the nice guard to escort me out."
Marty asked, "Hey, on your way out, do you think you can help me break out?"
Annie shook her head, "No way, Martin. No matter how much I care for you, I can't do that. Besides, it's against the rules."
Marty perked up. So she did still care for him. That was a good sign. He replied, "Can you at least come see me? It's...it's kinda lonely here."
Annie stated, "No, I don't think that's a good idea. Not at least you had your first Citizen Plus treatment."
Marty asked, "Why not?"
Annie flatly admitted, "Cause it was because of someone dang hormones that I got landed in here."
Marty did a double take. That sounded more like Annie, or at least close enough to it in this timeline. He couldn't help but wonder if she had something up her sleeve. He decided to play it cool.
Marty pleaded, "Come on Annie, this isn't you. If anyone would know, I would. This isn't you in this timeline."
Annie rolled her eyes, "Oh enough about this junk about a time machine... Maybe it was just a very intense dream."
"A very intense dream that both of us are having."
Annie grabbed her head. Why was that happening again? Marty perked up too. She was still remembering, he could tell.
Marty told her, "It's not a very intense dream, it is real. I know that. Citizen Brown knows that. And you know that deep down."
Annie replied, "No, no. It's not true. My dad signed me up for Citizen Plus. And...I guess...it was a good thing. I was a complete mess. And utter failure..."
Marty started to say, "Annie, I..."
That's when Annie started to sniffle. "H - he would've left me because he couldn't deal with mom passing away..." She said so low, Marty barely heard it.
"Annie, I want you nowhere near that...that crack pot!"
"But Dad...Doc's my friend! And he's my boss!"
Annie finally spoke up a bit, "Why is all of this happening, Marty...? This never happened before... why...why am I remembering all of these things now...?"
Marty took a deep breath, "I wish I could give you an answer, Annie. But I think you are starting to believe me, aren't you?"
Annie chuckled a bit dryly, "Let's just say for everyone's sake that I do, what's the plan...? What are we going to do?"
Marty thought for a minute, "Is there anything you can use to defend yourself with?"
Annie looked around, "There's a heavy box in here."
Marty replied, "Perfect. I have a plan."
That's when Marty whispered something to her, which made her giggle. Marty got out his guitar, plugging in the squawk box. He started to sing 'Johnny B. Good'. The guard came in, hearing the noise.
He asked, "What's going on here?!"
Annie played it cool, "I have no idea, sir. I was minding my own business when all of the sudden this horrible noise started coming out of that camera!" The guard went to investigate and Annie knocked him out from behind. She gushed, "Got him, Marty!"
Marty replied, "Come on and get me out then!" Before Marty knew it, Annie came in. He gave her a tender kiss, which she was happy to return. They broke out of the kiss as he said, "Aw, I thought I would never do that again."
Annie told him, "We don't have much time. Citizen Edna was questioning me about the time machine."
Marty did a double take, "What?! But I was the one that came back alone to 1931. Why would she ask you in this timeline?"
Annie stated, "Didn't you tell her that I was a time traveler in your timeline?"
Marty paled, "Oh, yeah I did."
Annie showed Marty the guard's clothes that she grabbed. She added, "Change so we can get to Citizen Brown." Marty went to the side to change. She teased, "Still think you couldn't be a fashion designer."
Marty came over to her and replied, "Oh haha, Annie. How do I look?"
Annie responded, "A little short to be a storm trooper but it will have to do. Let's go!"
Marty glared, "Oh ha ha, very funny."
That's when they walked out of the room together, hand in hand.
