Citizen Edna turned to him, "I'm sorry for the delay, dear. This'd go a lot easier if you would give up this madness about time machines and alternating the past. Maybe that's why your sister died for you... So you could make a time machine - so impossible. You should concentrate on the future."

Citizen Brown weakly spat, "There is no future... for us... You killed my sister for your beliefs. Captured the two nearest and dearest friends to my heart..."

"In about 30 years?"

"We hope so..."

Citizen Brown groaned again. That was still happening. "You brainwashed Annie... I don't even know where Martin is... And worst still, you erased everything I loved in one fell swoop. I don't even have anyone anymore. You aren't even thinking about the consequences of your actions."

Citizen Edna pointed out, "Of course not. Annie is eliminated and so will Martin soon enough."

Marty turned down the optics, turning them blue. Marty tried again with the volume but no such luck. Marty into the overlook as Citizen Edna and Citizen Brown will still arguing. Marty plugged his guitar into the microphone.

He whispered, "Let's get ready to blow this joint, Doc."

Citizen Edna perked up, "What was that?" Marty fell onto the table that was holding Citizen Brown. Citizen Edna hissed, "You?! How...?"

Marty had shown his pick and stated, "Doesn't matter how. Cause now I'm getting my friend out of here you nutcase!" He tried to play a note but it didn't blast them all the way through the door like he had hoped. He admitted, "Okay, that was a little less dramatic than I thought it was going to be."

That's when two guards showed up. Marty jumped down from the table. He kicked the lock off, pushing the table in the way of the guards. They both went down in a huff. A third guard came in as Marty bagged the table into the Aroma Tanks. He forced the Aroma Tanks out of his way, bringing them down and trapping Edna and the guard. Quickly getting out his guitar, he played another note. The amp blew, forcing Edna and the guard to the ground.

Marty turned to Citizen Brown and said, "Let's go, your honor!"

Citizen Brown asked, "What? I can't hear you!"

Marty positioned the table and got it out of the doorway. The guard started to chase after them but slipped on something.

Citizen Edna ordered, "After him, you slackers!"

...

"Attention citizens. This is an Omega-1 Priority Alert. Potentially disruptive nonconformists are loose in the Courthouse. Please return to your homes until the situation has been resolved. Have a nice day."

It was at the moment Citizen Brown and Marty got out of the Courthouse. Right after them there were a lot of guards. The guards had lost track of the two and decided to split up to find them. Marty and Citizen Brown got up a little bit - hiding in the rather tall recycling bins.

Marty asked, "What the heck was Edna doing to you back there?"

Citizen Brown explained, "She was trying to rebuild my personality from the ground up, erasing the parts she didn't like. ...I wonder if that's what she did to Estelle."

Marty admitted, "Guess we'll never know. But that's still harsh." That's when Marty saw his mom in the square, "Hey, it's my mom!" That's when a guard came up to her. He reacted, "Hey!"

Citizen Brown warned, "Don't talk to her! She could give us away!"

Marty asked, "What do we do now?"

Citizen Brown answered, "Now we wait for the guards to clear out, so we can make a break for your time machine."

Just then, another guard came up to Lorraine. Marty was starting to get worried.

He asked, "Shouldn't we go help?"

Citizen Brown stated, "Once we go back and change history none of this will ever happen!"

Lorraine slapped the guards. Marty sighed, "I guess... Where is the De Lorean, anyways?"

Citizen Brown replied, "I had the wreck towed to my secret lab near Clayton Ravine."

Marty perked up, "Clayton Ravine...as in Clara Clayton?"

Citizen Brown was puzzled, "Why? Is that significant...?"

"Emmett Brown at your service, Miss..."

"Um...um... Clayton. Clara Clayton."

Citizen Brown frowned, it was happening again and he had no scientific reason for it. George had come over to the guards to defend Lorraine. He punched out the one, knocking them both over.

Marty grinned, "Alright dad. No offense, your honor but why'd you marry Edna in the first place? She's...she's kinda of crazy."

Citizen Brown explained, "Well, like I said, she wasn't always this way. But when we first dating, her madness was tempered by an iron-clad sense of right and wrong. At least, that's how it seemed to me at that time..."

George and Lorraine had a reunion kiss until four guards surrounded them by all sides.

Marty said, "Dad! Mom! No!"

Citizen Brown reassured, "They'll be fine. Once we repair the timesteam, none of this will ever have happened."

The guards had surrounded them. Marty gave in, "I guess you're right..."

The two of them went down again as two guards ran on by. The guards ran out and Citizen Brown perked up.

He commented, "Looks like the coast is clear."

Marty stated, "Great, let's go get the De Lorean."

Citizen Brown shook his head, "I'm afraid I'll have to do that without you, Martin."

Marty asked, "What? Why?"

Citizen Brown explained, "Well, from what little I understand about time travel, if you help me rebuild the time machine, your presence in the repair efforts could cause some sort of temporal paradox after we return to 1931."

Marty raised a brow, "So what am I supposed to do? Just hang out here in bizzaro Hill Valley until you've fixed the time machine?"

The bells started to ring as Citizen Brown checked his watch, getting out of the recycling bin, "Exactly. But don't worry, if things work out according to plan, you won't even notice I'm gone."

Marty admitted, "Y'know, for a minute there, you almost sound as confusing as my Doc."

Citizen Brown smiled, "See? We're making progress already. See you soon, Martin."

Marty watched him go, "Good luck, your honor."

Citizen Brown added, "Oh and you might want to stay off the streets for a few seconds."

Marty puzzled, "Stay off the street?"

But it was already too late, Citizen Brown was already gone.

...
