ch. 1

Xie Lian's pov
I'm currently standing at the door of my classroom. I feel a great urge to turn around and go home. I do not want to fucking go there. Why must I go somewhere, where everyone is just judging others? They're all fake.

I snap out of my thoughts and step into the classroom, I quietly walk to my spot at the back of the class and sit down. I put my head onto my desk and close my eyes. I slept too little last night and now I'm super tired.
"I really need to establish a sleep schedule"

I sigh and look at the clock, only 3 minutes till the class starts, hopefully my classmates will just shut up when the teacher walks in, I don't need to hear any more of their fucking screams at barely 8 am.

Finally, the bell rang and the teacher walked into the classroom. I look up and see...someone beside him. A tall young man with long black hair. His features are quite sharp, as I'm checking him out I move my gaze to something sparkling next to his face. He's wearing red earring? I smile to myself, he might look intimidating, but maybe he's actually nice. I look at the empty seat infront of me, suddenly my heart starts beating faster. He's gonna sit infront of me.

"Good morning, I see you noticed your new classmate, he recently moved to Xian Le" the teacher said and looked at him "you can introduce yourself"

"I'm Hua Cheng, as your teacher said I recently moved here"

"Well do you enjoy to do something in your free time if you don't mind me asking?" the teacher looked at him smiling.

"No I don't mind" he smiled "I like art, especially sculpting and painting" he continued.

"Oh nice! With that being said, you can sit in the empty spot in the back, infront of Xie Lian"

The boy nodded in response and went to his assigned spot. The classroom was filled with jingling noises, as he was walking, because the fellow wore many different jewellery around his neck.
When he got to his seat he turned.

"Hi"

I got a bit shocked, since people don't really talk to me, but I tried to seem kind.

"Hi"

Our eyes met, the second I looked up to him. I feel like he's even more handsome up close, I slightly blushed and looked back down, when he sat down.

The class continued as usual and eventually the moment the bell rang, everyone got up to go to Hua Cheng. I just put my head on the desk, preparing to sleep till the next class began.

I could hear my classmates showering him in compliments and especially questions of all kinds, when a certain question caught my attention.

"Do you have a girlfriend?" one of the girls asked, giggling to herself.

Silence.

He awkwardly laughed and scratched his neck "No I'm gay"

My eyes shot wide open and I felt my heart pounding. All of my classmates are really homophobic and I never met someone who's actually gay...well besides my friend Shi Qingxuan.

Suddenly the classroom was quieter than usual, but after a minute they began chatting again, ignoring what he just said.

Every break continued like this and now it's finally the end of the school day, everyone already left the classroom and I was about to leave too, when a hand rested on my shoulder. I jumped a little bit and looked back, only to see Hua Cheng.

"Oh sorry didn't mean to scare, do you have some time?" he asked

"A-ah yes, do you need something?"

"Mhm, the homeroom teacher asked me to come to his office after the day is over to fill in some papers and stuff. Do you know where is his office?"

"I see, I'll walk you there" I looked up to him, already starting to walk.

"Thanks...uhh..."

"Xie Lian"

"Yea! Xie Lian"

I would be lying if I said my heart didn't flutter when he said my name out loud.
We continued to walk in silence after that, however it wasn't awkward, more like comfortable silence. When we got there he got inside and I decided to wait for him outside of the office.

He was already there for quite some time, so I thought maybe it's gonna take a while and decided to sit on the couch in the hallway, but my eyes got heavy and I drifted off to sleep. I don't remember how long it took after this, but I felt a hand on my should again and woke up immediately.

"Oh sorry scared you again"

I saw him standing infront of me, quite close to me and blushed again. I hope he didn't see it though.

I took a deep breath and rubbed my eyes, while getting up, not seeing what I bumped into, but when I opened my eyes again I saw his chest right infront of me.

"Shit sorry!" I managed to get out of myself and immediately backed away from him, my face getting even redder than before, how could I embarrass myself like that, the first time I was with him alone!

"No no it's okay" he looked a bit shocked, but not mad,  "anyways... do you have any free time this afternoon?"

"M-me? I do, I don't have any plans for today yet"

"Would you like to go somewhere? I've never been in this city and I actually know nothing here ahah"

A smile formed on my lips.

"Of course!....um...If you don't mind we could go to a bar, my friend owns. He's really nice so don't worry about him"

"Sure, I'll let it be up to you then. Then we can meet at 17:00 infront of the school?"

"Sure! I'll see you there"

"Okay, I'm already excited to spend my afternoon with you"
