Chapter-2

He hasn't told his mother about his real job, which was a senior IPS officer and the head of the Indian Secret Agency which overlooked crimes all over the country from Delhi. According to her, he was just a businessman who knew how to run it well and succeeded gracefully and that his company was the reason behind his wealthiness. Varun didn't want to marry because it wasn't very safe for him to have a family and all as he had enemies aka terrorists and mafias whom he had sworn to catch alive or dead and put behind the bars.

But, now he couldn't reject any more proposals because of his mom being so upset at him. He understood that she was lonely at this age and now that she wants to keep his wife with her, so it probably won't be an issue...

He spent the night at his parents house. After dinner he went to sleep. While sleeping, he got a call from his comrade in the middle of the night. "What happened?" He asked while picking up the phone sleepily. He was asked to come to the location they sent him, one of the political leaders had been kidnapped by their enemy. He rushed downstairs from his room and sneaked out of the house at midnight.

Reaching there, as soon as possible, he saw all of his officers in a fierce fight. He got to the entry of the building, fighting life and death. "They have the minister and his family on the Second floor, left!" One of the officers informed him from behind while covering him. "Got it!" He entered the building quickly, shooting, killing, fighting, finally getting upstairs, he looked around. The second floor was silent he looked at his left, rooms locked. Did they tell him the wrong path. He walked towards the corridor quietly, trying not to make the least of sound. He kept his ear on the first locked door. No sound. It won't be a smart move to break open the very first door, what if they are in the second one or the third one or the fourth. He couldn't do anything stupid. He walked quietly to the second one putting his ear on the door, he heard some faint noises.

"Bingo!" He whispered to himself before breaking open the door. Holding his gun forward. He knocked down the man in front of him with a kick in the jaw. He saw the minister shot in the head and a girl laying unconscious beside him. She was brutally injured. His eyes widened at the scenario. The person who had just shot him was standing in front of him with a psychotic smirk. "You're too late, Varun! He is dead!!" He laughed psychotically. Varun landed punches on his face and a fierce broke in between the two.

His fellow officers came behind him, rushing the two to the hospital while Varun continued to fight with the kidnapper.

After two hours. Inside the hospital,
"Varun sir kaha hai, Abhijeet?" Shahaan, one of the IPS officers asked the other inside the personal ward where the kidnapped girl was treated, she was currently unconscious.

"Pata nahi, unke haath mein shayad koi chot aayi hai toh voh Patti lagwa rahe hain."

"Accha, vaise iss ladki ka minister se kya talluq hai? Cyber team ne kuch jaanch ki?"

"Upar wala hi jaane, minister ne kabhi apni family ke baare mein nahi bataya hai kisi ko bhi. Ho sakta hai unki beti ho."

"Minister toh abh rahe nahi ki batae iss ladki ke saath ka majra kya hai? Naam pata hai iska?"

"Nahi, mujhe kaise pata hoga. Itni umar nahi hai. 20-25 saal ki hi hogi. Abh iske baare mein pata karne ki koshish toh jaari hai par ye bechari kaha rahegi?" Abhijeet said.

"Jis hisaab se ye itni sundar hai.. minister ki beti toh nahi lagti." Shahaan smirked, his careless and mischief behaviour playing on his lips.

"Voh bhi hai. Pata nahi kon hai ye. Par ho sakta hai ki ye apni maa par gayi ho." Abhijeet continued playing along with his joke.

Just then, Varun entered with a bandage around his hand and the crook of his neck. All of the officers, upon seeing him, straightened themselves and saluted. "At ease." He nodded and sat down in front of her. "Kuch pata chala iss ladki ke baare mein?" He asked examining her like she was a bomb that was about to explode.

"No, sir. The minister's house was burned to ashes." Abhijeet answered. "Don't know how she is related to the minister that she was kidnapped with him." He added.

"Agar ye yaha aise hi padi rahegi toh kaam nahi chalne wala." Varun said while narrowing his eyes at her. "Shahaan, nurse ne kya kaha?"

"Yahi, ki thodi der mein hosh aa jayega." Shahaan replied. "Sar mein zyada chot aayi hai isliye jaldi hosh nahi aa raha." He added.

"Voh pichle aadhe ghante se yahi keh rahi hai." Varun spat. "Agar hosh nahi aa raha toh chita pe Chadha do, saare ke saare officers ko yahan par rok rakha hai iski wajah se." His phone buzzed, taking it out of his pocket, he picked up.
"Hello, maa?" "Varun kaha ho!? Koi hosh hai raat ke do baj rahe Hain aur Ghar ka darwaza kya choro ko nyota Dene ke liye khula rakha hai!? Tum Ghar toh aao, main tumhen theek karti hu." His mom exclaimed loudly on the call that all the officers could hear her. Varun bit his lip. Standing up, he quickly walked out of the room. "Maa! Main hospital mein hu! Mere dost ka accident ho gaya tha, isiliye jaldi jaldi mein Bina batae aa gaya."

Abhijeet laughed as he walked outside. "Looks like he inherited his anger from his mother." He said while laughing. Shahaan passed a smile.

"Abh iska kya karen? Agar ye uthi, aur isne kaha ki iska minister se koi sambandh nahi toh Varun sir sach mein isey chita pe Chadha denge."

"Yaar, iska naam-pata bhi nahi mil raha. Mere khayal se ye unki beti hi hai."

"Zaruri nahi hai. Iski maa kaha hai phir?" Shahaan argued.

"Toh-" "Uss hi se pooch lo na." Varun said walking in. "Par voh toh behosh hai na sir!" Abhijeet turned to him. Varun raised one of his eyebrows.

"Madhosh, tujhe hosh nahi hai. Dekh usne aankhein khol li." He said making Abhijeet's head turn towards her. She had opened her eyes indeed. If she was a beauty with her eyes, then you could say that her half beauty was captured in her eyes. She was just so pretty. "What's your name? Naam kya hai tumhara?" Varun asked sternly.

"Sir thoda aaram se poochiye. Aap kisi criminal ki class nahi le rahe. Ek patient se uska naam puch rahe hain. Dar jayegi bechari.'' Shahaan suggested.

The girl observed her surroundings without saying anything. "Shayad bol nahi sakti bechari." Abhijeet said out of sympathy.

"Tum dono kya bechari bechari kar rahe ho! Munh band rakho." He scolded them and then turned to her. The girl didn't have any fear of his sternness in her eyes which made him more pissed. "Dekho ladki, Indian Police Service yahan par tumhara rishta lekar nahi aayi hai ki kal tak tumhare jawab ka intezar karegi. Naam kya hai tumhara?" He asked once again.

"Paani." She said softly and pointed towards the glass of water in her opposite direction.

"Paani? Ye kaisa naam hai?" Abhijeet furrowed his brows in confusion. "Tumhara naam kisne rakha tha?" He asked her.

"Abey ullu! Paani chahiye usey!" Shahaan smacked him from behind.

"Aye, chup kar! Agar uska naam Pani hi hua toh??" He smacked him back, before turning to her again. "Tumhara naam Paani hai kya?" He asked her softly.

She shook her head and pointed towards the glass of water. Varun turned his head around glaring at Abhijeet, he looked like he was about to breathe fire out of his nostrils like a dragon. Abhijeet chuckled and handed her the glass. She gulped down the water and her throat felt better.

"Ho gaya?" He asked getting annoyed. She nodded and said, "Mera naam Sonakshi hai." She replied politely. Both Raj and Abhijeet melted at her soft voice but of course Varun didn't. "Pura naam?" "Sonakshi Sinha." She replied after thinking for a while.

Abhijeet exclaimed, "Kaha tha na! Sinha! Kartik Sinha hai minister ka naam. Ye unhi ki beti hai!" Raj rolled his eyes.

"Tumhara minister se kya sambandh hai?" Varun continued interrogating.
