~ Third Person Point of View~
The night was calm and clear as Shumi and Jewel found themselves on the rooftop of their apartment building, a serene escape from the festivities of their wedding day. The city below twinkled with lights, and the gentle breeze carried the faint sounds of the evening bustle far below. The rooftop had been transformed into a cozy retreat, with a few scattered cushions, a soft blanket, and a small table with a couple of glasses of water and some leftover wedding treats.
They settled into the cushions, leaning against the low railing that overlooked the cityscape. Shumi had changed into a comfortable, yet stylish outfit—an airy blouse and soft pants that allowed her to relax fully. Jewel, equally at ease in a casual button-down shirt and jeans, glanced at her with a look of contentment. The day had been perfect, but this quiet moment alone, away from the crowd, was a special kind of bliss.
As they sat together, their conversation flowed effortlessly. The stars above seemed to twinkle in agreement as Shumi and Jewel began to talk about their future. They spoke of their dreams and aspirations, their voices filled with excitement and a hint of nervousness about the path ahead.
Shumi began, her eyes bright with determination. "You know, I've been thinking about how I still want to continue working after we're married. I love what I do, and I want to keep pursuing my career."
Jewel nodded; his expression supportive. "I know how passionate you are about your work. It's one of the things I admire most about you. I'm completely on board with it. We can make it work, no matter what."
Shumi smiled, relieved and grateful for his understanding. "I was worried that it might be hard to balance everything, especially with how busy things might get. But hearing you say that makes me feel so much better."
Jewel took her hand gently in his. "We're in this together. We'll figure out a way to support each other's dreams. Besides, I'm excited about the idea of you continuing to work. It's part of who you are, and I wouldn't want you to give that up."
Their conversation shifted to their plans for the future. They talked about where they might live, their hopes for a cozy home filled with love, and their dreams of starting a family. Shumi spoke of her desire to have a few children, imagining a life filled with laughter and the joys of parenthood. Jewel shared his enthusiasm for being an involved and supportive father, discussing how he would love to be a hands-on parent.
"I can picture it," Jewel said with a warm smile. "A little family of our own. We'll make sure to have lots of adventures together, whether it's traveling or just spending time at home."
Shumi laughed softly. "Absolutely. And we'll make sure to create a home where our kids feel loved and supported. It's going to be a lot of work, but I think it will be so worth it."
The night deepened, and the city lights below seemed to shimmer in harmony with their shared dreams. They talked about their careers, their future home, and the little moments they hoped to cherish. The conversation flowed easily between them, filled with laughter and thoughtful reflections on the journey they were embarking on together.
As the hours passed, they sat close together under the stars, the world below becoming a distant hum. They made plans, shared hopes, and simply enjoyed each other's company. It was a moment of pure connection, where the excitement of their new life together seemed boundless.
Eventually, as the first light of dawn began to appear on the horizon, they reluctantly agreed it was time to head inside. With a final look at the waking city and a shared sense of anticipation for the future, they gathered the cushions and blanket. Hand in hand, they made their way back inside, their hearts full of hope and their spirits uplifted by the promise of the life they were about to build together.
In those quiet hours on the rooftop, Shumi and Jewel had not only celebrated their union but had also laid the foundation for their future—a future filled with love, mutual support, and the excitement of all the dreams they had yet to realize.
Afra watched them plan their future together. She didn't realize when she started crying. They were such a healthy couple with great ambition what happened to them. She wondered.
