“Hee, how many times have I told you?” Seonghwa sighed, rubbing his temples as he glanced over at the junior florist. “The roses go in the cooler, not on the display table with the lilies.”
“I know, I know! I’m sorry, hyung!” Hee apologized, scratching the back of his neck as he hurriedly gathered up the roses. “I just…got a bit mixed up again.”
Dami snorted from across the shop, shaking her head with a smirk. “A bit mixed up? Hee, at this rate, you’re going to create a new breed of flower arrangement. The ‘Random Bouquet.’”
“Hey! Cut me some slack, I’m still learning!” Hee shot back, though his sheepish grin betrayed his embarrassment.
“Learning or not, just try to pay more attention.” Seonghwa said with a patient smile, adjusting the delicate arrangement of orchids in front of him. “Flowers are sensitive. They don’t do well with too much moving around.”
“Yeah, or they’ll end up like the daisies Hee drowned last week.” Minghao chimed in, a playful gleam in his eyes.
“Hey, that was one time!...I think.” Hee protested, though his face was turning red. “And they looked like they needed water!”
“Enough teasing.” Seonghwa said, holding back a laugh as he inspected a bouquet. “We have a wedding to prepare for, remember? Let’s try to keep everything organized today.”
“Understood, boss!” Minghao said with a mock salute, winking at Dami.
As the team got back to their work, Seonghwa felt a familiar sense of satisfaction settling over him. Being surrounded by flowers, with his hands busy creating something beautiful, always brought him peace—even when his co-workers drove him a little crazy... Just a little.
“Alright, let’s make this wedding arrangement perfect.” he said, his voice full of quiet determination. “It’s not every day we get to make someone’s special day even more beautiful.”
“Hee, don’t—!” Seonghwa’s voice cut off as he watched, wide-eyed, while Hee knocked over a vase of sunflowers, sending water cascading across the counter.
“Oh no! I’m so sorry!” Hee exclaimed, scrambling to grab a towel and mop up the mess.
Seonghwa pressed his fingers to his temples, inhaling deeply to keep his patience in check. “Hee, you’ve got to be more careful. Those sunflowers were just prepped for the front display.”
“I-I didn’t mean to! It just…slipped!” Hee stammered, looking genuinely flustered as he cleaned up the water.
“It’s alright.” Dami said with a small chuckle, patting Hee’s shoulder. “At least he didn’t break another vase. Progress, right?”
“Very funny, Dami." Hee muttered, though a reluctant smile broke through his embarrassment.
Minghao grinned as he joined in. “Honestly, it wouldn’t be a regular day without Hee’s daily chaos. It keeps things interesting.”
Seonghwa couldn’t help but chuckle, shaking his head. “Just…let’s try not to turn the shop into a disaster zone before the wedding order is ready, okay?”
Hee nodded, giving a determined thumbs-up. “Got it! I’ll be careful this time.”
As he watched his team bustling around, Seonghwa felt a mixture of exasperation and affection. Despite the occasional mishap, they all shared the same passion, and that was what made working together worthwhile.
