Author's pov

Vladimir is staring at Fiona and Daniel silently. Both Fiona and Daniel are waiting for his response. Vladimir never celebrated his birthday because his mother was never Interested in all that stuff.

"There was no need for this Fiona. You should have told her everything Dan." Vladimir said and Daniel pleaded with his eyes to not burst in anger

He knows his brother very well. His calmness indicates the storm which is going to hit soon.

"Vladdy I don't know why you don't like to celebrate your birthday but come on it's your birthday and because it's yours that's why it's special for me as well. I chose this cake and decided to surprise you. Please don't get angry with us. Daniel helped me as well. He is such a sweetheart." Fiona said and Vladimir looked at Daniel without saying anything

"Fine as you have already planned everything out, let's not ruin it." Vladimir said and Daniel was shocked

His brother agreed to it without any fuss. It's not near what he expected will happen today. Maybe it's the effect of Fiona.

They both cut the cake together. Yes, Vladimir kind of forced her to cut the cake with him. Everything was good but when he excused himself along with Daniel it was a different scene.

"Why didn't you stop her?" Vladimir snapped at his brother

"Because I wanted you to enjoy your birthday like others. Forget about that woman and move on in life." Daniel said and Vladimir glared at him

"I hate my birthday because that day that woman gave birth to me. I hate this day and that's why I try my best to avoid knowing today's date as much as I can." Vladimir said and Daniel sighed but he is happy that at least he cut the cake

They ordered their favourite flavours of ice cream and enjoyed it. Daniel was taking care of Fiona along with teasing her as well.

They both were giggling and feeding each other ice cream. Vladimir's eyes were on them constantly but both of them were too lost to notice that.

Vladimir looked at Fiona; he doesn't know why he can't hurt her. Normally he doesn't like women as he assumes everyone is just like his mother selfish and Natalie hasn't changed his perspective either.
Her greedy behaviour proves him correct all the time.

Ava is different from her mother and Vladimir knows that but still that doesn't make her good in his eyes.

He shook off those thoughts and focused on eating. He felt good after getting attention from Fiona but he doesn't know if it's good for him or not.

That day passed happily but many things changed between them. Times flew away like it got wings and they grew up a bit more or maybe a lot to jeopardise their life's.

It's Fiona's 13th birthday and she is sad because first of all Daniel isn't present here. He has left for studies or more precisely Vladimir sent him. Reason is unknown to her but he said that Daniel will be disciplined if he goes out to study. Eric didn't oppose his elder son either because he knows if Vladimir is saying something he is saying that after thinking about everything.

Another reason why she is sad is Vladimir himself. He is maintaining distance from her for another unknown reason. He doesn't come to her room anymore nor does he talk to her much. She doesn't know the reason behind it and 16 year old Vladimir isn't liable to explain everything to her regarding his life.
