Chapter 3

The night of the Pooja

After Rocky killed Garuda, Reena was eager to see Rocky, especially after the look he gave her. Suspicions arise as to whether she was caught by Rocky and the truth was spilt.

Reena returned to their hut in hopes to see him but to her surprise when she arrived he was gone. All his belongs, everything. It was like he didn't even exist as if he was a figment of Reena's wild imagination.

She hazily rubbed her eyes a few time but the truth was clear. He was gone. In a hurry she ran out to the path where all the people began happily returning to their huts.

"Farman, have you seen Rocky bhai anywhere?" Reena asked a boy but he just shook his head.

"No Akka i didn't see him anywhere. Shouldn't he be with you?" he asked confused but she just shook her head.

"He isn't here and neither is all his stuff" Reena panicked.

The air was heavy with tension and confusion as Reena tried to ponder where Rocky had gone. Her first thought was the palace so she made her way over to the building, easily getting in due to the lack of guards.

She walked in, exploring the large corridors and halls, looking for Rocky but she couldn't find him. When she spotted the telephone she decided to call the CBI to inform them of the recent events.

"Hello Ramesh sir its me Reena" she said into the phone as a voice of recognition echoed.

"Reena, how are you calling me. Are you alright. What has been happening?" Ramesh hurriedly said into the phone and Reena sighed.

"Sir I'm all fine, listen. Garuda has been killed. I'm calling from the palace phone, but dont worry I'm safe" she said.

"What do you mean Garuda is dead. How, i mean what happened?" he asked confused.

"A Bombay shooter was hired to kill Garuda and he did. Now KGF is out of control, well at least until Virat is coronated" Reena said.

"Okay then, keep an eye on Virat. As of now your work here is done. We will send a car over to pick you up from Narachi tomorrow" Ramesh said and Reena hung up the phone.

Reena could tell something was wrong. All this chaos had broke yet she hadn't seen Virat at all since they spoke at the palace.

He promised to meet her by the fields and didn't show. I mean did he have a connection with Rocky. Did Virat help Rocky kill Garuda. All these questions were spiralling in her head making her confused and anxious.

As of now her first job is to try find Rocky then get out of here and back to Bangalore. She got back to the hut and packed up all of her belongings. She walked around the surrounding areas trying to find Rocky but she couldn't.

Eventually it was sunrise and Reena's car should be arriving any time soon. However unlike every other morning today was different.

The sun shone brighter, the skies were clearer. People were peacefully sleeping not having any worries. Reena decided to check one last time in their hut to make sure she didn't leave anything behind.

When she walked in she saw a small amulet on the floor, right where she used to sleep. The amulet wasn't hers so when she moved closer to inspect it she realised it was Rocky's he used to always wear it around his neck.

She thought he might have dropped it but she realised when she came before it wasn't here. So he left it here for her on purpose. Like a promise, that he'd come find her again.

Reena clutched the thread close to her chest as a new found hope grew within her. Reena quickly changed into her skirt and top and made her way to the gate where her car was waiting.
