Chapter 9-new understandings

Reena safely arrived back to KGF without getting caught and quietly tried to sneak back into her room. She sneaked out through her balcony so she thought to sneak that way back into the house. 

She used the ladder nearby to climb up and once she got there she was about to walk in when she saw Rocky by her door, staring at her bed. Reena immediately covered her head in her hands walking back out. 

Panicked and without knowing what to do, she decided to climb onto the balcony in the room next door, forgetting that was Rocky's room. Her heart pounded and she went to the balcony door and was happy to find it unlocked. Reena was about to step into the room when the light switch on. Rocky's inside.

"You have got to be kidding me" she whispered to herself.

He was whistling something to himself as she could see him walking aimlessly around his room. She waited a few minutes until he finally walked into the bathroom giving her the perfect chance to leg it back to her room. 

She sighed in relief, putting a hand over her heart as she got back to her room without a trace. Slumped, she laid in bed staring at the ceiling until she eventually let the sleep overcome her. 

Reena fluttered in her sleep as she felt something caressing her face. Her eyes slowly peeled open and she saw a face.

"AHHHH-" she screamed, sitting up and clutching the blanket close to her chest. Rocky moved back slightly startled but composed himself and stood up.

"Enu naraka, nivu illi enu maduttiddiri" Reena asked confused and realised it was the next morning. She ran a hand over her face, glaring at Rocky who gave her a cocky smile.

(What the hell man, what are you doing here)

"I came to check on you. How are you feeling now Chinna?" he asked, touching the back of his palm to her forehead. Reena jerked back, looking at him as if he was mental.

"Yes I'm fine why?" she said and he narrowed his eyes, nodding to himself.

"Good good, well since i was told you were sick yesterday, i was so worried. I was even contemplating calling a doctor" Rocky responded and Reena frowned, till she remembered.

"Oh yes right. I'm feeling better since I'm well rested. You dont need to worry" she waved her hand in the air and let out a fake cough to make it more believable. She tried to read Rocky's eyes but he seemed genuinely concerned so she sighed.

"Okay, well make sure you eat on time and after that i need to speak to you about something" he said and left and Reena widened her eyes.

"Ayo, ella mugidide" Reena groaned into her pillow, afraid that she may have been caught by Rocky.

(Oh no, it all over)

Reena was busy in her room when there was a chorus of knocks at her door. She made her way over, preparing what to say in her defence, thinking it was Rocky. However to her surprise when she opened the door, it was a group of little kids. 

"Hey cuties, what you all doing here?" Reena asked resting against the door. They all looked at each other and then back at Reena. 

"Bhabhi we all wanted to play yesterday but when we came to find you, you weren't in your room" one of the boys said and Reena ruffled his hair.

"I was a little sick yesterday that's why i couldn't play, but dont worry I'm all fine today" She said and their eyes twinkled in excitement.

"So you can play today?" they asked and she nodded smiling.

"Come in" she beckoned them all in and they sat in a circle on the floor. 

"First Bhabhi we have a question?" a little girl asked and she nodded, curious. 

"Rocky Bhai , why does he call you Chinna. That means gold doesn't it, Rocky bhai always says that he will get all the Chinna in the world. Does that also mean you?" the girl said and Reena giggled at her innocence.

"Its best you ask him that question" Reena replied with a laugh and they all nodded. 

They all continued to talk and laugh about that they didn't even notice when Rocky arrived and leaned against the doorframe watching Reena genuinely smiling. Her eyes drift up and her smile momentarily dropped seeing Rocky smiling at her. 

"Rocky Bhai, come play please" the kids all got up and dragged him towards them and Reena just sighed, moving over giving him space to sit. Rocky smirked, sitting down and purposely grazing his knee past hers. 

"Rocky Bhai we have a question?" they asked and he nodded.

"When you say you will get all the Chinna in the world, does that also include Bhabhi, since you always call her Chinna?" they asked and Rocky nodded.

"Of course, when i say Chinna, i mainly mean this Chinna" he said pointing at Reena who rolled her eyes annoyed.

"Well good luck trying, cause it isn't going to happen" She said with a mock smile and he raised his eyebrow, impressed by her confidence.

"Tumba confidence, adare mele baji kattalu bayasuttare" Rocky asked in a challenging tone and Reena smirked.

(so much confidence, wanna bet on it)

"Sure, after all i will win" Reena said confidently and Rocky chuckled to himself.

"You really underestimate me Chinna. You should know Omme nanu enannadaru bayasidare, nanu adannu padeyuttene mattu adannu nanna hrudayakke priyavage hididittukolluttene mattu adannu sasvatavagi palisuttene " Rocky said and Reena stared into his eyes, hearing the double meaning behind his words.

(once i want something, i get it and hold it dear to my heart and cherish it forever)

"Hey kiddos why dont you leave Bhai and Bhabhi alone for a little bit" Rocky said and Reena widened her eyes, about to beg the kids to stay but they all already scurried off. 

"I'm sorry" Rocky said taking Reena aback. She looked at him just to find his eyes drowned in an invisible sea of guilt. Reena could tell he was trying his best to hold himself back.

"I value you a lot Reena. Your the most important person in my life and i did what i had to, to keep you safe. This is a dangerous field were in. If people find out how much i love you they could do anything to get to me, including harming you. I couldn't risk any harm to you, that's why i did that" Rocky said and Reena looked down at the floor, unable to say anything.

"Why didn't you just tell me before" she asked, her voice barely above a whisper and Rocky let out an exasperated sigh.

"I just, it all happened so fast. When i saw you that day i knew i would do anything for you, i just didn't think it through well" he said and Reena nodded.

"I know i may put on a tough act Rocky and act as if it didn't affect me but it really did" Reena said, biting back her tears. Rocky looked at her and they held a short eyes contact before Reena broke it, just staring into her lap. 

"I was really, really hurt by it. I thought you really liked me and to hear you speak about me so cheaply hurt so unbelievably bad. I never showed people affection, or opened my heart out to anyone but the one time i did, i was insulted" she said the tears now streaming down her face. Rocky cupped her face, wiping the tears away.

"Please dont cry, id do anything for you to forgive me" he said and she sighed, closing her eyes sniffling.

"I'm not mad Rocky, i just need time okay" she said and he nodded, standing up.

"I really am sorry Reena" he said one last time before he disappeared off into the halls.
