Y/N's mother applied the last bit of eyeshadow onto her daughter's eyelid. Her e/c eyes fluttered open, surprised by the girl in the mirror. The dress fit her perfectly and brought out the vibrant e/c of her eyes. The V-neckline wonderfully framed the copper, flower charm necklace that hung from her delicate neck. Matching earrings glittered from her ears. Her h/c hair fell in loose coils around her face. Subtle makeup lingered on her skin, enhancing her natural beauty.

"Brooklyn was absolutely right; you look so darling!" Her mother eagerly said, "Let's go show your father."

Hand in hand, they raced to the living room, where her father sat catching the final innings of Saturday baseball. "Wow, you look like a million bucks, sweetheart!" he said, paying full attention to her.

Y/n blushed, "Brooklyn lent the dress to me."

"Well, you model it perfectly," he replied. Y/N smiled and glanced nervously at the clock; it was 5 already. Anthony should be there any second. Deciding to touch up on perfume for a moment, she raced into her bedroom. Eventually she picked a citrus and rose scent and sprayed it on her wrists. She caught a glimpse of herself one last time before hearing the doorbell ring.

Anthony was waiting in her living room when she returned. Y/N stood in awe, amazed she's actually going to a dance with the star of the basketball team. His tan skin glowed under the soft overhead lights. His short, sporty brown hair was neatly styled, the clean lines accentuating his sharp jawline. Subtle silver earrings glinted just beneath his earlobes.

He wore a crisp white dress shirt with the top button undone and a dark tailored suit jacket that enhanced his athletic build. His fitted trousers and sleek dress shoes completed the outfit. He beamed upon seeing her, complimenting her stunning appearance. He gently placed the corsage on her wrist. The bright yellow begonia flowers were snugly bundled and tied with a matching black ribbon.

"Thank you," Y/N said graciously.

He nodded, his touch lingering on her hand. Y/n in turn placed a white rose boutonniere on his jacket. Y/n's dad slowly got up from the couch grinning, "now don't move, I need a picture of you 2 together."

Anthony put his arm around her waist holding her tight. Her parent's phones flashed documenting this moment.

"Okay I think that's enough," Y/n insisted after a few photos were taken. Anthony agreed and asserted that it was time for them to head out. Y/n's parents joyfully walked their daughter to Anthony's dark gray Toyota GR86. Reminding her of the midnight curfew, they watched with blissful smiles as their daughter drove away.

The restaurant was a cozy yet elegant spot, perfect for dinner before the dance. Warm lighting glowed from wrought-iron chandeliers, casting golden hues over the wooden tables covered in crisp white linens. The walls were adorned with vintage travel posters and shelves lined with wine bottles. A faint aroma of spices, fresh vegetables, and homemade bread wafted through the air, blending with the quiet hum of soft music playing in the background.

The group of friends they were meeting, dressed very nicely in expensive attire, were seated at a large round table near the corner window that offered a view of the bustling street outside. Laughter and excited chatter filled the space as they browsed the menu. Y/N recognized Peter, Allison, Kou, Miya, and a few other couples she'd seen at lunch. Despite the formal occasion, the atmosphere was relaxed and inviting, with friends snapping photos with their dates and friendly debating what to order.

Anthony brotherly ruffled Peter's hair. "Sorry, we're late." He said taking a seat next to Allison, with Y/N sitting next to him.

Peter released an exasperated sighed, "It's okay."
