As the weekend approached, the routine at U.A. shifted into a mix of leisure and practice. The students had been pushing themselves hard, and after weeks of intense training, the teachers scheduled a few lighter days to give everyone a chance to recharge.

You found yourself eagerly awaiting your next training session with Bakugo, knowing that each encounter not only improved your skills but also deepened the bond between you both. There was a sense of comfort in the way you challenged each other, and that excitement brewed inside you as the day of training finally arrived.

The sun hung high in the sky as you made your way to the training grounds, your heart racing with anticipation. You spotted Bakugo already there, engaged in a warm-up routine, his intense focus evident even from a distance. You could see the way his muscles moved beneath his skin, the way the sweat glistened on his brow as he pushed through the motions.

"Hey, sparky!" you called out, waving as you approached.

He glanced up, a slight smirk appearing on his face. "Took you long enough. I thought you'd bail on me. And don't call me that you shitty bender."

You rolled your eyes playfully. "As if! I wouldn't miss a chance to show you up boom boom boy~."

Bakugo raised an eyebrow, amusement flickering in his gaze. "Show me up? In your dreams."

"Just you wait!" you challenged, feeling the familiar rush of competitive spirit rise within you.

You both began to stretch, the atmosphere charged with a mix of determination and camaraderie. The air was thick with the promise of friendly rivalry, and it felt invigorating. After a few minutes, you both settled into your routines, Bakugo working on explosive blasts while you practiced bending the elements around you.

"Try to focus on control," Bakugo advised, glancing over at you. "You've got the power; you just need to direct it better."

"Thanks, Captain Obvious," you replied with a smirk, but you took his words to heart, narrowing your focus on the water bending.

With a deep breath, you visualized the water spiraling from a small puddle nearby, summoning it into a graceful arc. You felt the energy swell within you, and for a moment, everything clicked. The water danced at your command, moving in fluid motions as you shaped it into intricate designs.

Bakugo's eyes widened slightly, a look of genuine appreciation crossing his features. "Not bad. You're getting better at this."

Your heart soared at the compliment, and you couldn't help but grin. "Thanks! But I'm still not as flashy as you."

"Flashy doesn't always mean effective," he replied, his tone turning serious. "Just remember that in a fight, it's about the results, not the show."

You nodded, aware of the weight of his words. He was right; power was one thing, but using it wisely was entirely different. As you practiced further, Bakugo's focus returned to his own training, and you felt a sense of warmth wash over you.

Hours passed as you both pushed each other to new limits, exchanging tips and techniques in between bouts of teasing. Each time you landed a successful move or successfully redirected a stream of water, Bakugo would nod in approval, fueling your determination.

"Alright, let's take a break," Bakugo finally said, wiping the sweat from his brow. "I'm not dying out here."

You both settled down on the grass, catching your breath. "So, what's next for us? More explosive training?" you asked, a playful glint in your eyes.

"Maybe. Or we could switch it up and do something less boring," he replied, glancing sideways at you.

"Like what?" you challenged.

He smirked, a hint of mischief in his expression. "I don't know. Maybe we should have a sparring match. You against me."

Your heart raced at the idea. "Seriously? You want to go head-to-head full out? We haven't done that in a while."

"Why not? It'll be fun," he replied with a shrug, though you could tell he was serious.

"Fun? With you? I'm not so sure about that," you teased, pretending to consider it.

"C'mon! Don't tell me you're afraid," he taunted, leaning in closer, a competitive glint in his eyes.

You shot him a determined look. "Afraid? Of you? Never!"

"Then let's do it," he challenged, rising to his feet.

The two of you squared off, the competitive energy surging between you as you prepared for the spar. You focused, bending a small amount of air to enhance your agility, while Bakugo charged up a small blast in his hand.

"On three!" he shouted. "One... two... three!"

You darted forward, using your elemental bending to create a mist that momentarily obscured your movements. Bakugo's eyes narrowed, and he immediately adjusted, blasting through the mist with a powerful explosion that sent you tumbling backward.

"Not bad! But you need to think faster!" he yelled, his tone half-serious and half-impressed.

You quickly regained your footing, and as you continued the spar, the two of you exchanged blows and techniques, laughter and shouts echoing across the training ground. It was exhilarating, the rush of battle mixing with the thrill of competition, and you couldn't help but enjoy every moment.

Just as you managed to gain an upper hand by wrapping a stream of water around his leg, trying to throw him off balance, he smirked. "Nice try!"

With a quick maneuver, he broke free from your grip, launching a counterattack that sent you sprawling onto the grass, laughter spilling from your lips.

"That was actually clever!" he admitted, a genuine smile creeping onto his face.

"Thanks! I'm learning from the best," you replied breathlessly, your heart racing.

Bakugo shook his head, still smiling. "Don't get cocky. You still need to work on your shitty ass speed."

You rolled your eyes, trying to catch your breath. "Yeah, yeah. I'll keep that in mind."

As you both sat there, catching your breath and enjoying the moment, you felt a sense of peace settle over you. The weight of expectations and fears had lessened in the warmth of Bakugo's presence, and for the first time in a long while, you felt like you were truly connecting.

After a while, Bakugo turned serious, the teasing glint fading from his eyes. "You know, I've been thinking..." he began, his tone suddenly more somber.

"What's up?" you asked, concerned.

"It's about everything we've been through-facing the League of Villains, All Might, the pressure to be a hero. It can get overwhelming sometimes." He hesitated, a shadow crossing his features. "I don't want to let anyone down, especially not you."

Your heart swelled at his vulnerability, and you scooted closer, wanting to reassure him. "You're not going to let anyone down, Bakugo. You're stronger than you think, and you have people who care about you."

He looked at you, a mix of gratitude and something deeper in his gaze. "You care, huh?"

"Of course I do," you replied softly. "You're my friend, and I believe in you. You have so much to offer as a hero and as a person."

His eyes softened, and for a moment, it felt like the world around you faded into the background. "Yeah."

You smiled at him, feeling a warmth blossom in your chest. "You don't have to shoulder everything alone, Bakugo. We're in this together."

He nodded, a newfound determination igniting in his gaze. "Yeah, whatever."

The connection between you deepened, forged through shared battles and moments of honesty. It was as if you were both discovering parts of yourselves through each other, and the prospect of what lay ahead felt brighter than ever.

As the sun began to dip below the horizon, painting the sky in hues of orange and pink, you felt a sense of hope.
