After a long day of training and classes, the girls' dorm was buzzing with excitement. Mina had pulled together an impromptu "Girls' Night In," insisting that everyone needed a break from the daily grind of hero work. It was a perfect plan-just you, Ochako, Mina, Momo, and Tsu, lounging around, unwinding, and spilling secrets. The setting in Momo's spacious room couldn't have been cozier. Plush blankets, pillows, and candles (courtesy of Tsu) gave everything a soft, warm glow, while a pile of snacks sat on the floor waiting to be devoured. Momo, ever thoughtful, had even used her Quirk to create matching pajamas for everyone.
As you all got settled, Mina grinned, holding up a big bottle of neon pink punch. "Alright, ladies, first things first! Time for a little kick-off drink!" She poured cups for everyone, and as you took a sip of the fizzy, sweet liquid, you felt your nerves finally begin to unwind. It wasn't alcoholic at all but you couldn't have a sleepover without some sort of refreshment.
"This is exactly what I needed," Ochako sighed, sinking back into a pile of pillows. "Feels like we're always moving at top speed lately."
"I know, ribbit," Tsu agreed with a soft smile. "It's good to just be here with friends."
You relaxed into the atmosphere, listening to the girls share stories, gossiping about classes, and laughing as Mina reenacted some of Denki's most embarrassing training fails. But soon enough, the conversation shifted, and you noticed Ochako and Mina exchanging a glance.
"So, Y/n..." Mina began, her voice laced with curiosity and that trademark mischievous grin. "I heard an interesting thing yesterday morning~."
You froze mid-sip, already dreading where this was going. "What thing aha?" you asked with an awkward laugh, hoping to sound casual, though you could guess where this was heading.
"Oh, you know," Ochako said, smiling slyly, "something about someone being seen sneaking out of Bakugo's room?"
Your face went hot as you watched the girls lean in with a mix of shock and intrigue.
"No way," Momo gasped, a hand covering her mouth as she smiled. "So you admit to being in his room?"
"Not like that!" you blurted, burying your face in a pillow to hide the blush that had exploded across your face. "We were just... talking. That's all."
"Talking, huh?" Mina said, raising a brow. "So what did you talk about?"
You hesitated, biting your lip. The truth was, the conversation you'd shared with Bakugo felt incredibly personal, a rare moment where he'd let his guard down to show a vulnerable side he usually kept hidden. Repeating his words felt like breaking some unspoken trust that you two had.
"Honestly," you said finally, "I don't feel right sharing it. He... just needed someone to talk to. It was important to him."
Your answer made the girls exchange another round of surprised, thoughtful glances.
"Wow," Tsu said, her voice soft. "Bakugo actually opened up to you? That's... kind of amazing, ribbit."
"Yeah," Ochako added, her eyes wide. "I mean, he barely lets anyone get close to him, let alone talk about anything serious. He's always like "DIE" or "BOOM BOOK EXPLOSIONS BOOM" you know?"
You gave a small nod, feeling the weight of their surprise. "I know. He's usually so... guarded. But that night, he actually seemed to trust me. I don't think he's used to doing that."
There was a pause before Mina leaned in, eyes twinkling with excitement. "And how do you feel about that, Y/n? About him?"
You felt your face heat up again, knowing you couldn't dodge this question forever. You looked down, tracing patterns in the pillow, and took a deep breath. "I... guess I might like him," you admitted softly. "I mean, more than just... you know, a friend."
Ochako's eyes lit up, and she let out a quiet squeal, bouncing on the bed. "I knew it! You two would be so cute together!"
Momo nodded, a soft smile on her face. "It makes sense, really. If Bakugo felt comfortable enough to let you in like that, there has to be a deeper connection."
You buried your face deeper into the pillow, feeling equal parts thrilled and embarrassed. "I just don't know if he feels the same way. He's so... intense, and he doesn't really do soft feelings, you know? For all I know, he'll act like it never happened."
Mina reached over and squeezed your hand, her eyes bright with excitement. "Trust me, girl, there's something there. He wouldn't have opened up to you if he didn't care. That guy's as stubborn as they come, but he wouldn't just trust anyone like that."
The girls chimed in with their encouragement, each one offering words of support, saying that even if Bakugo couldn't express it, he had to feel something for you to show you his vulnerable side. Hearing it made your heart flutter, and you couldn't help but feel hopeful-maybe there was a chance after all.
As the conversation drifted back to the usual silly topics, you let yourself sink into the warmth and comfort of the night. With the girls teasing each other, laughing, and sharing stories, you felt a weight lift from your shoulders. Whatever happened with Bakugo, you knew you had friends who understood, who'd be there to support you, no matter what.
Before long, everyone was dozing off, nestled under blankets as the soft glow of candles flickered in the room. As you drifted to sleep, you let yourself imagine, just for a moment, what things might look like if Bakugo felt the same way. And for the first time in a long while, you felt truly at ease.
