...

the summer breeze was relaxing for the little friend group while they were eating outside on their lunch break.

"i can't believe this will be our last few lunches together" victoria breaks the silence between all of them. sadly they wouldn't all be going to the secondary school with each other. the only ones still being together being diego and isabella.

"yeah. but we'll still hang out, right?" mateo says while quietly munching on the school's cheeseburger.

"of course! why wouldn't we hang out? we all live 10 minutes apart." jude says while looking at all of them.

"you're forgetting how much work and activities we're going to be apart of when we have school again." isabella says while playfully hitting jude on his forearm.

the group creates more small talk, creating summer plans and discussing how they're all excited for their new beginnings. jude's being the most promising, always being the best footballer out of the 3 guys. while victoria wanted to also be involved in sports, still deciding what she'd wanted to be.

never would victoria would think she'd find such amazing friends like what she had now. their dynamic always included everyone, supporting one another through all of their aspirations.

even if everyone was going to be seperated; she knew their bond wouldn't break.

or would it?

...

"tori, can we talk? just the two of us." isabella walks up to victoria while she's walking home.

"hey isa! i thought you had a club meeting after school?"

"they cancelled it last minute, but i still need to talk to you." she firmly grabs on victoria's wrist while they walk to their local park, sitting on one of the tables.

"what's going on?"

"i know your little secret tori, you don't have to hide it anymore." isabella says blankly, leaving victoria confused.

"but what-"

"you've liked jude even though you knew that i liked him victoria."

"what?" victoria is in disbelief, yes she did like jude. but she never told anyone about her crush.

"you know, best friends shouldn't ever like each others old-crushes. especially if we still talk to them, i couldn't believe this from you."

"okay i'm sorry isa, me and jude have just always been close so there was no excuse for me not to have feelings for him." victoria says while looking down, "but, i would rather lose him then lose you isa. you are my best friend and i wouldn't want to hurt you like this."

isabella nods her head slowly while hiding her sly smile behind her hair. "i'm glad you confessed, but you have to promise me. you can't ever like or date jude, regardless of any circumstances." she then holds out her pinky, which victoria does the same and interlocks her pinky with isabella's.

sealing the deal.

a wave of regret and guilt filled victoria while walking back home, she knew these feelings for jude were strong. but she knew suppressing those feelings were the only way to keep her friendship with the both of them.
