"okay now, it was only for work purposes. it was kind of awkward too..." i say while drinking my dr. pepper.
"well, it doesn't seem like he wanted to let you go. since he TEXTED YOU FIRST?" pablo says while pointing a finger at me.
i shove it back to him while rolling my eyes. "okay, well it's only on friend terms. he has other priorities to actually start something with me."
"oh right, because balancing priorities and feelings is just impossible-clearly, no one has ever had a successful career and a significant other."

we remained silent as we discussed other topics-straying away from our previous conversation.
