The sounds of the wind passed by as the grass glows under the bright moonlight. How long has it been since I've seen the outside world? After being trapped, caged in a toxic household with no one to depend on and no one to trust... I've finally escaped. But where to? Where shall I go to? I'll only end up being lost in this plains area surrounded by forests, as if something or someone cleared the trees of this place. Yet I have no choice but to leave this place immediately. After all, evil spirits are all over this area, waiting for me to make a move.

"Hi there! What's your name?"
A cheerful voice called out as I turn to see a girl my age with short, straightened dark hair and bright blue eyes. She crouched down to my height and tilted her head waiting for me to reply. As much as I don't want to, it'd be rude to ignore her...
"I don't have a name... But people call me Jugeun and say that it fits to be my surname."
I replied while hugging my knees close to my chest. The girl then sat next to me, giving me one of the brightest smiles I've ever seen in my life. The sight gave me warmth... And my tense muscles seemed to relax.
"I'm Elira! I saw you just laying at the ground earlier, I thought you were dead!"
The girl said and chuckled, I didn't know what came to me but I joined in the laughter by instinct.
"Unfortunately, I'm not. So what brings you here in the middle of the—"I froze at the sight of a tall, dark figure with a mouth wide enough to fit us in there completely. It was mainly focused on the girl in front of me, latching onto her back completely as it seems to be slowly consuming her energy.
"Huh? Jugeun, what's wrong?"
I swallowed a lump in my throat, trying my best not to make it obvious for the spirit that I've took notice of it. Just as I was about to speak, its neck snapped as its head turns towards me staring at me in complete hunger with their smile widening even more at the mention of my last name.
"Found you~"
Before the spirit could reach out to me, I felt a sudden rise of energy within me as the girl named Elira suddenly fell unconscious. Chains then formed around the spirit's neck as the end of it was being held by my hand. And though as if I gained fully control over it, I look into it's eyes, glaring at it like a predator getting ready to feast on its prey.
"Don't you think it's a bit rude to be like that to people?"
After saying that the monster's head exploded into pieces as the blood of it splashes on my face. Slowly, the thick, dark liquid started to evaporate and so does the remainings of it, disappearing as if nothing had happened or it never existed at all.
It was a disgusting sight to witness, yet at least it's gone. I turn back to Elira who was still unconscious as my muscles relaxed once more. Why... why do I feel like this towards someone I had just met in less than an hour? Though it's strange how I feel like I've seen her before. I approach her unconscious body as I kneel down and put my palm over her head.
"I apologize in advance for invading your memories without your consent."
I muttered as light emitted from my palm. Waves of her memory then hit me, it all seem so warm and happy... Like a beautiful sunset in the shoreline like one of those places mentioned from the books I used to read in my old room. Her recent memories though... are quite disturbing.
