I sat at the dining table, a bubbling excitement coursing through me as I absorbed the discussion about the magical world I had been reborn into. Listening to the Duke and his family guide Rowan in choosing an academy was both thrilling and nerve-wracking. The possibilities of magic, the allure of the academies, and the challenges ahead filled my mind with wonder.

"Remember, Rowan," the Duke said, his voice steady yet firm, "the entrance exams for the academies are grueling. You'll be tested not just on your magical abilities, but on your intellect, creativity, and resilience. If you're not prepared, it could cost you your future."

My heart raced at his words. The thought of entrance exams sent a wave of anxiety through me. I had never been particularly good at studying, even in my past life, and the pressure to excel weighed heavily on my shoulders. What if I couldn't measure up to the standards of this world? The prospect of failing and being forced to attend a second-rate school, as the Duke warned, filled me with dread.

Rowan nodded, a serious expression crossing his face. "I understand, Father. I'll do my best to prepare. I want to go to a good academy."

Kellan chimed in, "If you need help, I can tutor you. I may not have the best grades, but I know a few tricks to study effectively."

"Thanks, Kellan. I might take you up on that," Rowan replied, a small smile breaking through his seriousness.

As they discussed the merits of each academy, the Duke turned to me, his gaze softening. "Flynn, I want you to know that your mother, Anastacia, also graduated from Onyx Academy. She held the second highest rank among the students, earning her the title of one of the strongest warriors."

A rush of pride surged through me at the mention of my mother. The recognition of her accomplishments resonated deeply, and I felt a connection to her strength. "Really?" I asked, my voice barely above a whisper. "She was that strong?"

The Duke nodded, his expression filled with admiration. "Yes. Your mother was a remarkable individual, both as a warrior and a leader. She carried her abilities with grace and used them to protect those she loved. You have her blood in your veins, Flynn, and I believe you have the potential to achieve greatness as well."

His words ignited a spark of hope within me. If my mother had excelled in this world, perhaps I could too. I could carve my own path, despite my worries about fitting into this new life. Yet, the shadow of self-doubt lingered. What if I couldn't live up to her legacy? What if I failed to harness the abilities I might possess?

As I took in the conversation around me, I couldn't help but notice the varying reactions of the three women at the table. The first, with her cold beauty resembling Angelina Jolie, maintained an inscrutable expression, her eyes sharp and calculating as she listened. The second, a gentle lady with warm features, smiled encouragingly at Rowan, her demeanor radiating support and kindness. The third, with a predatory glint in her gaze, seemed to observe everything with an intensity that made me uneasy, as if she were assessing my every move.

The contrast between them fascinated me. Each woman held a distinct aura, and I found myself wondering what roles they played in this family. Would they accept me, or would I have to navigate their complexities as I settled into my new life?

The conversation shifted back to Rowan, and I took a moment to reflect on my own feelings. Excitement mingled with anxiety as I realized the enormity of what lay ahead. I was part of a magical world filled with possibilities, but I also carried the weight of expectations—both my own and those of my family.

As the discussion continued, I found myself leaning forward, eager to absorb every detail. The notion of studying magic, the potential of discovering my abilities, and the chance to follow in my mother's footsteps ignited a fire within me. If she could do it, so could I.
