Chapter 4

WAKING UP IN A WHOLE NEW WORLD

Sunlight fell on the sleeping pod, and a baby stirred, fluttering her eyes open having had enough of kyros attempts to wake her up. 'Good morning, my mystic BFF!' Elyria greeted excitedly in her mind.

Kyros chuckled. "Good morning, Elyria."

'Hey, thanks for the wake-up call, Kyros. I fell asleep yesterday, but I still want to know more about this world. This lousy baby body can't even handle staying awake for a longer period. It's like, hello, I'm a genius, not a sleepyhead!' Elyria complained, her mental tone dripping with sass.

Kyros just chuckled at her antics. "I'll tell you what you should know currently."

'Finally! I've been dying to know what's going on. Spill the beans, Kyros!' Elyria urged.

Kyros began explaining, "In Aethoria, humans possess spiritual energy, known as Aether. It enhances combat capabilities and extends lifespan. It is also the reason for your frail body."

Elyria's curiosity piqued. 'What does this have to do with my frail body in my past life? Was I just a weakling or something?'

Kyros' expression turned solemn. "Your body couldn't handle the immense Aether within. When your Nexus core reaches capacity, you ascend. Nexus core stores Aether and when the become saturated you ascend.During Ascension, your body releases large amounts of Aether, which your past body couldn't handle."

Elyria's eyes widened. 'That's what caused those painful attacks? You're telling me I was like on the brink of death loads of times?'

Kyros nodded. "Yes. Your Nexus core became saturated, triggering Ascension."

Elyria's thoughts whirled. 'But why did this happen to me? Was I cursed or something?'

Kyros paused, collecting his thoughts. "We'll discuss that later. For now, rest and grow strong, Elyria."

'Grow strong? Easy for you to say, Kyros. You're not stuck in this baby body!' Elyria teased.

Kyros chuckled. "Patience, young one."

Elyria's gaze drifted, her mind still buzzing with questions. 'Kyros, what's the deal with this world? You said something about Aether and Ascension...'

Kyros' expression turned serious. "10,000 years ago, Aethoros, a colossal celestial body filled with Aether, collided with the Nexarion Galaxy. This event, known as the Galactic Convergence, infused nearby planets and space with Aether."

Elyria's eyes sparkled. 'Whoa, that sounds like a cosmic catastrophe! And what does this have to do with me?'

Kyros paused. "The fragmented Aethoros formed new planets, each containing varying levels of Aether. Our world, Aethoria, is the largest piece, now home to humans and other beings."

Elyria's focus snapped back to Kyros. 'What does this mean for me? Am I like, Aether royalty or something?'

Kyros' expression softened. "You've been reborn with a unique connection to Aether. Your past experiences will help in your journey in Aethoria."

Elyria's mind buzzed with questions, but Kyros' reassuring presence calmed her. 'Alright, Kyros. I get it. I'm special. But what's next?'

Kyros smiled. "Grow, learn, and discover your purpose, Elyria."

'Easy peasy, right?' Elyria said sarcastically. 'I'll just grow up, master Aether, and save the world. No big deal.'

Kyros chuckled. "With your sass and determination, I have no doubt you'll achieve greatness, Elyria."

'But I really don't want to be a world saviour to be honest ' Elyria confessed.

Kyros was confused "why?"

Elyria clarified 'I just always wished for having parents and a healthy body. I now got both and I have you as my buddy so I don't really think I want something more.'

Kyros Just smiled " We'll see".

Suddenly Kyro's voice turned serious after sensing something "you're not the only one reborn. Others, with similar connections to Aether, are awakening."

Elyria's eyes sparkled 'What does this mean?'

Kyros voice was grave "It means your journey just began, Elyria."
