"I don't want to go. Can't we just stay like this all day." I complained as I gazed up into his dazzling blue eyes.
"Unfortunately, my love, the Council is waiting on us." he murmured, gently brushing a strand of my hair behind my ear. "You wouldn't want them to find us like this now would you?"
With a deep sigh I buried my face into the pillows of his bed. "I guess not." I said, my words being muffled by the bedding.
"What was that? I didn't quite hear you." he asked, a teasing tone lacing his voice. I pulled my face out of the fluffy pillows and shot him a hard glare. It had almost been six months since our mission to Raxus and I've got to admit, it's been the happiest months of my life. Though all our shared time together has been in secret, it doesn't mean that I love Obi-Wan Kenobi any less.
Obi-Wan laughed softly, his eyes crinkling in that charming, infuriating way that made it impossible to stay annoyed at him. "You have to admit, you're adorable when you're sulking," he said, leaning over to press a lingering kiss to my forehead.
"Oh, shut up," I grumbled, though I couldn't help the traitorous smile tugging at my lips. He was impossible, and yet somehow that made me love him even more. Don't get me wrong we still had our fair share of fights and still tortured each other endlessly, but at the end of the day, none of it really mattered. No amount of bickering or teasing could change the way we felt when it was just us, alone in the quiet moments no one else knew about. Every sarcastic remark, every playful jab, only brought us closer. Both emotionally and sometimes physically, if you know what I mean.
Obi-Wan moved to stand, pulling on his robes as he went, I sat up, watching him with a bittersweet sense of longing. He looked over his shoulder at me, catching my gaze with that familiar warmth. "I know," he said softly, as if reading my mind. "But we'll have tonight."
Tonight. The word alone made my heart flutter. It was our stolen moments, our quiet conversations, and unspoken promises that kept me going through the endless Council meetings, the rigorous missions, and the secrecy of it all. Those moments were ours alone, and for now, that was enough.
With a sigh, I forced myself out of bed, reaching for my own robes draped over a nearby chair. Obi-Wan stepped closer, his hand resting on the bare small of my back as I unfolded my robes. "I'd give anything to stay in bed with you all day." he whispered, his voice smooth as silk. His hand lingered a moment longer, and my heart skipped a beat, wanting nothing more than to lose myself to that look in his eyes.
Before I could reply, there was a sharp rap at the door to his chambers. Obi-Wan's hand quickly dropped from my back as he cautiously made his way to the door. Swiftly, I pulled on my robes and shuffled into the corner of the room, out of sight from whoever was wanting to see Obi-Wan. Before he answered, Obi glanced back at me to make sure I was hidden from the visitor. Satisfied, he pulled open the door.
"How long does it take for someone to answer a door, master? I've been knocking for almost two whole minutes." Anakin's annoyed voice sounded from the doorway.
"Honestly Anakin, you would think after all this time being a Jedi, you would have earned some patience by now." Obi-Wan said, irritation evident in his tone.
