"You with the eyes colder than the Arctic's ice."

One -

The whir of the capuccino machine took over the chatter of every customer. My green eyes scanned the room full of elegant clamor. Adults being engaged in a conversation, teenagers enjoying company, and the families bonding over cups of coffee and some dessert. Everything seemed peaceful and the environment created a light mood.

Moreover, I felt like I belonged. An innocent 19 year-old just waiting for time to pass. Admiring people in every way possible, because I'm not one to look on the negative side of life. I believe everyone's got that tiny bit of uniqueness in them and also that ample drop of kindness. Not everyone is bad, because apparently, we were made good and innocent.

My train of thought was suddenly cut by a person, tapping me on the shoulder. I looked at the suspect and saw a little kid. A boy. He had this brown tousled hair and hypnotizing green eyes. He was beautiful. "Hi there, little guy." I greet. He smiles shyly and tiptoes, wanting to kind of whisper in my ear.

"I think you're pretty," his innocent voice said. I smiled at him and kissed his cheek. "Well, I think you're very charming."

He smiled shyly at me and gave me a thank you. I then noticed a lad, just about my age, running towards our direction. Hm, he looked almost exactly like the kid, only this guy had sea blue eyes. "Sky! Why are you here little man? Why are you bothering this lady?" The lad asked, playfulness obvious in his tone.

"I just wanted to tell her how pretty she was," the kid, Sky mumbled. "Remember what Dad said? Always remind a girl that she is pretty or beautiful? I was just reminding her in case she forgets." My heart did a little 'aww' at what Sky said. This kid was taught well by his parents. Blue eyes chuckled at Sky and carried him. He then turned to me.

"Hi, I hope you didn't find that annoying. This little guy is very like that sometimes," he exclaimed, then pinched Sky's cheeks.

"No, not at all. I found it very adorable actually," I reply. "Oh, and you are his?"

"Brother," he answered. He looked at my booth. "Seems like you are alone. Care to join us over there? We don't bite," he chuckled lightly. He was the epitome of friendly and nice.

"Oh, no need. I was just leaving actually," I reply. His face fell a little and so did Sky's. "I hope we meet again next time, uh--"

"Clark. And I didn't quite catch your name, too."

"It's Veronica Gabrielle. Vega for short," I smiled. He waved his hand goodbye and Sky's little hand did the same. I blew a kiss at Sky before he was nowhere to be seen. I fixed my things and finished my cup of creamy espresso. I gave one last look at the cafe and exited the establishment.

Outside, I was quickly greeted by the cold and foggy New York air. My hair was everything but in place. Grabbing a hair tie, I tamed the wild thing. Walking through the streets, a name catches my eye. "Give modeling a shot, and be the next face of Topshop!"

I laugh at the failed attempt to attract. They should've made it rhyme, just like any other ads posted almost everywhere. A smile spread across my lips when the memory of my short-lived modeling career popped into my mind. It was quite fun, and the professional photographers were great. I was utterly shocked when the pictures came out. It was in black and white, which made it so elegant. Professional photographers were like an expensive pair of jeans. They make you look effortlessly good.
