Chloe sneezed for the sixth time in the day. The day before it had rained a lot, and since she didn't have an umbrella, she had gotten wet. Red had gone to her uncles so she had missed classes and Chloe had been left alone. In addition, to top it off, she had worn canvas sneakers, so she had wet her feet and her sneakers.
The cold I had today was obvious.
Luckily for her, it was Saturday, so she didn't have to worry about classes and justify her absence.
Even so, she was completely bored, because she didn't know what to do. She was lying down in her pajamas, doing nothing. Sometimes her mother came and asked her how she was.
The window of his room opened. Red appeared in her field of vision.
- What are you doing here? - she barely murmured, because her throat hurt. The soft voice she normally had, was now deep and somewhat scratchy, as if she had screamed for hours, without stopping.
- What kind of question is that? I come to take care of you.
- Red took things out of the backpack she had on her back. Even some board games and a pharmacy bag.
It seems that Red wanted to make them a doctor.
- But I can infect you. - Red smiled at the tenderness that Chloe gave. Despite being sick, her tenderness remained intact.
- It would be worth it if it's to take care of you. - Chloe felt her cheeks heat up, and she didn't know if it was because of her best friend's comment or because of the fever she had.
They spent the rest of the afternoon together. Red taking her temperature, and feeding her in his mouth. They also played not to get bored, laughing at the stupidity of the highest. Chloe coughed more than once, and then laughed even more.
"I will be with you, in health and in the nurse"
Chloe now found meaning in that phrase.
