Francis watched his younger brother, dressed in his pyjamas and tucked into the heat left behind from Gilbert, with tears in his eyes.
His little brother had found his way home. Everything would be okay now.
Matthieu stirred and whimpered slightly. Francis took his hand and places it between both of his own.
"Matthieu!" The boys' mother burst into the room, collapsing at her youngest son's side. "You-your alive!"
Francis's father stumbled in, shock plastered over his face.
Gilbert poked his head in, looking at the scene awkwardly. His family wasn't a very affectionate one. He only had his younger brother and his grandfather, neither of which were prone to show emotion.
"I'm going to go now. He muttered, his voice low.
"Gil-"
But Gilbert had already disappeared.
