Naruto crushed the letter and burned it with fire chakra.

However, if he used Kyuubi's chakra, the beast became permanent. Kyuubi's chakra gave life energy to the imaginary beast. It would become no different to a real summoning beast. He had to absorb the beast using Second Eye in order to eliminate it.

Reaching the seal on his stomach, Naruto pulled out Kyuubi's chakra and used it to summon the imaginary beast. He imagined four crows. And immediately after, four crows emerged from Naruto's shadow.

They were twice as big as an average adult crow -- all of them had red eyes with kanji 三 as the pupils. Their feathers were covered by purple miasma.
