Maddie (Mads) Louise Baker is the one of the toughest, determined and hardworking cops out there. From the early age of 13 Mads had made up her mind that studying criminal Justice and enrolling in the police academy was her dream which she worked very hard to succeed! But when she told people that's what she wanted to do they would laugh at her and say that she didn't have what it takes or leave that job for some man out there who needs it and stuff like that which just made Mads want to do it even more to prove them all wrong so that's what she did!
Mads emerald green eyes and her bubbly personality grabbed everyone's attention in the academy she would get looks from the guys in her class some of them judging her others fantasizing over her but one guy in particular grabbed Mads attention and that guy was Nolan Jacobs, Nolan was your typical guy tall brunette and very muscular which Mads fell in love with and to her surprise he was falling in love with her as well!
Mads and Nolan were paired up to be partners on there "simulation day" the day that all the students look forward to the day they find out if there really cut out for this line of duty! When there instructor assigned the pair together there first assignment was to do a 2 hour shift in a patrol car and that's when the pair got to know each other and made them fall in love with each other even more!
About a month after there simulation day they started dating and they could not be any happier they were the dream couple! They didn't argue or fight very often and they had pure love for each other! They were what some people would say "head over heels" for each other and it was all great until it wasn't!
After they graduated from the academy Nolan got enlisted in the army the rangers to be exact and Mads had no idea until the day he had to leave! She was devastated she'd didn't want him to leave but she knew it was to late for that now he had to go! Watching him leave with his bag broke her heart she never knew if she was gonna see him again!
While in the army the pair would write letters to each other but one day it stopped and Mads worried that something has happened to him he was dead or severely injured or ill! And from that day forward she never heard from him again and she was left heartbroken!
While going through this she knew she had to stay strong! She was working her job as a Patrol officer at district 77 and she couldn't risk loosing her job over this! Over a boy! She would hold back the tears and let them all out once shift was over in the break room or bathroom and would go home and do the same thing all night long!
But one day things changed for Mads she got a job working in gangs and narcotics she was requested by one of the other officers who seen her in action now Mads didn't really know much about this unit she never really looked into it or studied it much in the academy but it was a good way to start over so she accepted she was paired up with Hank Voight a guy who has been working in this unit for years! Mads was scared of him he had his own rules and didn't play by the books and that eventually led to him getting arrested! And the unit was never the same after that!
About 4 years later Mads was still working in gangs and narcotics and began to have a passion for it! She was very comfortable with her team and she was starting to feel like she belonged there! But one day after shift she got a phone call from her former partner Hank voight he was out of jail and starting up a new unit the intelligence unit! (Which is now one the biggest units in Chicago!) and he wanted her on his team! She of course accepted as she was always up for something new and that's where she met her now co workers Erin linsday,Antonio Dawson,Alvin olynski and her partner Jay Halstead!
She learned that jay was also in the rangers and grew a friendship with her ex Nolan jacobs he informed her that he was still alive and got released about 2 years ago it made Mads wonder why he stopped contacting her and made her question what was really going on!
Now 4 years later the unit is still doing well with new people added to it Kevin Atwater,Adam ruzek and Kim burgess the team is the largest unit in the CPD and practically run the streets of Chicago!
