"I can't believe you're so irresponsible, Sophia!" was a sentence I heard very clearly in my sleep. I felt a terrible pain in my head at the moment and when I opened my eyes I could see the person they were coming from as well. My mother was standing looming over me with a disapproving face and her arms crossed in front of her chest. The light didn't do me any good and I immediately covered my eyes with my hand, burying my head in the pillow. "Aren't you going to say anything? Like, since when did you get like this?" my mom yelled again, and this time she unwrapped me, which combined with my headache really pissed me off. "Please, Mom, not now," I barely managed to say. "I don't care, Sophia! It's time to come to your senses, you can't party till dawn. You're a grown woman now." she started to mumble, picking up and folding clothes off the floor. "Mommy, please get out. I promise to get ready quickly and come downstairs very soon." She just looked at me out of the corner of her eye, pulled herself together as dramatically as she could and walked noisily out of the room.

I growled loudly and got out of bed, feeling like a knife was going through my head. How much had I had to drink last night? I'd have to check on Martha so she could get ready quickly too or my mother would go crazy. I had a quick word with her on the phone, and she wasn't at all happy that I was waking her up so early. She promised me to get ready quickly and hung up the phone. I took a quick shower and grabbed some casual clothes to put on. I didn't have enough time for makeup, so I just put on sunglasses. Hopefully they would manage to cover up the tiredness.

We all finally boarded the yacht. Marta and I sat on two lounge chairs next to each other and tried not to fall asleep, while everyone else walked around back and forth and emotionally showed their high spirits. "Hey! Let's play some music, huh?" my dad yelled and clapped his hands audibly. Both Marta and I looked at each other desperately and pouted. I didn't want to hear any sounds, my whole head was still throbbing from the night before. "Hey, Lando seems to like you a lot." she said softly to me and smiled devilishly. I glanced around worriedly, as if someone might hear us from my dad's favorite song, -sade - smooth operator-, and gave her a shush. Marta laughed and gave me a small frown. "He's a big partier and he's a lot of fun, but I can't imagine doing anything more with him." i said and I didn't lie. I did have a lot of fun with him, but I would never be able to look at him as anything more. I hope he's of the same opinion because I wouldn't want to get involved in love dramas. I just wanted to enjoy the holiday with my loved ones and not think about anything else. "Uh, yeah. He is not Charles Leclerc." she said and smirked, giving me a playful wink. Ugh, Charles. I still didn't understand what this toxic attraction of mine to him was. I didn't want anything to do with him, but at the same time I shuddered every time I saw him.

"Girls, you're going to sleep away your youth," I heard a familiar voice that was my sister's. And thank goodness. She laughed lightly and sat on the edge of my lounge chair. I opened my eyes and smiled slightly at her. I looked over at Marta, who also woke up and said "I promise I won't go near alcohol again." Then we all three laughed. "Dad's plan involves us spending tonight in Nice." Fran informed us. "That so? So what are we going to do there?" i raised my eyebrows and Fran shrugged her shoulders in a sign that she didn't know. "I know a unique club in Nice. We should go!" said Marta and we all laughed out loud again. "What's so funny? Come on, get ready to go down to Nice soon." came my mother's stern voice from upstairs on the deck. I rolled my eyes, glancing at Marta, who seemed to bristle every time she heard her voice.
