“Howard I really think the Vibranium Sheild would be the best option for Steve” I say to Howard as Peggy watches on the side “it is but it's the last we have and just a prototype” He says placing it on the metal shelf under the table “can just a prototype absorb different forms of energy like kinetic energy, sound waves and other vibrations of energy, and make bullets feel like cotton? It's the best thing he’ll have against Hydras weapons” I say a little too fast and he stares shocked for a minute, and Peggy gives an amused chuckle. “You know sometimes I forget you remember everything you read Mia” Howard says and turns on his heels facing Peggy “Could you go get the captain please” He says and she nods before turning down the hall “so what do you say Stark?” I say and look at him “I say we’ll test it but it not an option for now” he says as he fixes the white cloth on the table. Hey it’s kind of a win, I think. As a couple minutes past “I'm going to go look for the lovebirds” Howard says to me before he leaves out the lab doors to go find them. He returns talking about fondue with Peggy nowhere to be found, what the hell. “Nor should you, pal. The minute you think you know what’s in a woman’s head is the minute your goose is well and truly cooked.” Howard says patting Steve on the back “Okay rude. But what is it that you need an opinion on, I am a woman after all?” I say walking over to them. The two motorcycles rev as some mechanics in dark blue jumpers work on them. “I kissed a girl” Steve finally says looking at me putting his hands in his pockets looking at his shoes like a little child getting in trouble.  “You kissed Peggy?” I ask no response “you kissed a random girl?” I ask now my voice sterner. I look at him as Howard takes a steps back awkwardly with his hands up. “Technically she kissed me” Steve says looking up at me. “Me, I concentrate on work, which at the moment is making sure you and your men don’t get killed.” Howard says trying to take the attention off Steve. “Stop trying to change the topic Stark” I say annoyed looking at him and back to Steve “So are you going to tell me what the hell happened Steven?” I ask crossing my arms. “I don’t know okay it just happened I was talking to her being nice and then she kissed me. I mean it Mia I was not trying to kiss her, Peggy saw everything” Steve says looking me in the eyes. He wasn’t lying, okay breathe amelia glad he's not a complete idiot. “Okay I believe you but you’re going to have to talk to Peggy about what happened. Clear it up. Understand.” I say my voice calming down as I talk. I roll my eyes playfully as he sticks his hand out. “We’re not 12 anymore Steve” I say with a slight laugh behind it. “12 or 28 we have to do it” he says moving his hand closer to me with a smile. I chuckle slightly and start our hand shake. Left, right, grab, pull out slightly, twist thumbs, pinkies and pointers, drop them down, I say in my head as we do it. “All right now that’s all settled, Howard you can talk” I say looking at him seeing him unrolling a grey metallic weave. “Carbon polymer. Ought to hold its own against you're average German bayonet. Of course, Hydra’s not likely to come at you with a pocket knife...” Howard says turning looking at Steves Battered up Shield laying on our work table. “I think that Sheild has been through it” I say as my finger drag along the bullet holes. “I hear you’re sort of attached” Howard says to Steve. My eyes wondering to different things I just got a feel something is off today. “It comes in handier than you think” Steve says as I nod in agreement watching Howard pull the cart with the shields from earlier on it. Some built some of them half way done. “So’s the hotel chambermaid, but I wouldn’t take her into battle.” Howard says and I whack him on the back of the head. “Ow. Sorry.” Howard says dramatically rubbing the back of his head with his palm. “Anyways these are your options” I say turning my attention to Steve. “I took the liberty of coming up with a few options. This one’s fun. It’s fitted with transistorized relays.” Howard says and mumble “Liar” under my breath. Knowing i picked them based on Steve and what's better. Steve pulls out the plain, round shield from the bottom shelf and I smirk how did I know he’d pick that one, oh wait twin telepathy, and now Stark owes me ten bucks. Steve spins it between his palms. It’s light, balanced. Steve pings the simple shield. And it rings like a bell “What about this one?” He asks looking over at us. “Oh, that’s just a prototype. Now this one.” Howard responds picking up another shield. “But it's the best choice in my opinion” I say putting in my input on it. “What’s it made of?” Steve asks looking at the shield then up to me silently asking me how it looks. And I give a small thumbs up. “Vibranium. Stronger than steel and a third of the weight.” Howard says as Steve slides the shield onto his arm. “It’s completely vibration absorbent. Should make a bullet feel like a cotton ball.” Howard continues now he wants to get all on board after Steve asks about it a little rude but okay, I think as I hear the click of heels behind us. Peggy walks into the lab “How come it’s not standard issue?” Steve says as keep my eyes on Peggy an icy look on her face probably about but why is she so upset. “It’s the rarest metal on earth. You’re holding all we’ve got.” Howard says and I add “so don’t break the unbreakable” with a joking smirk. Peggy reaches us and Shes coming in hot. “Are you about finished, Mr. Stark? I’m sure the captain has some unfinished business.” She says faking polite tone as Steve smiles. She doesn’t. He lifts the shield. “What do you think?” Steve asks Peggy oh Shes pissed. Peggy looks at him expressionless and I decide me and her need to talk. I start to walk up to her as she grabs a gun off the table and fires three shots at Steves chest the shield blocking them from hitting the slugs drop flattened on the ground “I think it works.” She says and stalks out of the room leaving us all shocked for a second “Peggy wait...” I say as I run to keep up with her. “Mia I'm not in the mood to talk right now.” She says still walking. I speed up getting in front of her stopping her. “This isn’t you Peggy, so what’s wrong?” I ask looking in her eyes seeing the hurt and anger. “He kissed her he’s just like the others” She says and I sigh “He isn’t like the others because he’s, my brother.” I say and she tries to talk but I cut her off “Let me finish, she kissed him Peggy, He told me what happened, And I know he wouldn’t lie to me on little things like that” I finish saying her eyes softening. “So, I should go apologize huh?” she says and i shake my head. “No make him come to you all you did was let go of anger. Just breathe and talk to him tomorrow” I say as I hear a voice from the end of the hallway call my name. “Rosie” James says walking up to us of course I forgot, Lunch date. “Peggy just take what I said into consideration” I say as James takes my hand pulling me away from her.
