i love her sm ❤️

Cate was the sweetest girl you’d ever met, the most beautiful student in Goldokin, the golden boy’s girlfriend, and your best friend.
She’d been by your side since the moment you set foot in the school, practically inseparable as you went to every class, every party, every outing together.
She was there when you came out, when you started dating your girlfriend, when fights cropped up between the two of you, offering advice and a shoulder to lean on. Cate had always been there for you, and tonight was no exception.
Even now, as you sat beside her with fresh bruises and sore muscles—all courtesy of your “sweetheart” girlfriend.
"I just... I don’t understand it," you murmured, voice breaking as Cate carefully tended to the bruises on your arm, Her gloveless hands moving with a gentle caress
"I know, N/N," Cate whispered, her wide, sympathetic eyes fixed on you as she reached for a few items in the medkit. "What happened was awful…"
And what had happened? Your girlfriend had come back from a party with some random guy all over her. At first, you’d been furious with him—after all, your girlfriend was a lesbian, and maybe she’d just had too much to drink, or maybe it was all a trick from that other jerk with mind control powers.
But then she turned on you—sober, cold, and shockingly harsh. She’d yelled, told you she wasn’t even into girls, that she’d just been toying with you, and that she was sick of pretending.
Then came the bruises. She’d used her powers on you, only stopping when Cate showed up and forced her to leave.
"...I'm just so glad you showed up when you did," you mumbled, holding onto Cate’s hand, noticing a faint blush bloom on her cheeks.
"I just wanted to come over," she said softly. "I didn’t know she’d be here. You didn’t deserve any of that, N/N."
"A year," you whispered, still stunned. "We were together for a whole year. Who does that?”
Cate nodded, listening intently. "I know. She didn’t deserve you, you know that, right?" She gently touched the back of your neck, guiding your gaze up to meet hers.
You sighed, looking away, but she held your face, urging you to look at her again. “N/N, listen. You’re beautiful, you’re smart, you’re kind. You deserve everything. She has no idea what she’s lost.”
For a moment, her eyes seemed to change, but you were too weary to notice, too drawn in by her gentle voice as she continued, "You don’t need anyone else, N/N. Just me, right?"
You nodded numbly. "Yeah... I don’t need anyone else.”
Cate smiled, watching as you blinked sleepily. “You must be exhausted. Come on, you should rest.” You nodded again, letting her ease you back against the bed.
With a soft kiss on your forehead, you drifted off to sleep, unaware of the smirk playing on Cate’s lips as she glanced across the room—to the empty spot where your girlfriend used to linger.
Her eyes landed on a photo of you two on your nightstand. Rolling her eyes, she slipped into bed beside you, wrapping an arm around your waist, a content sigh escaping her as she held you close.
You’d never know it was her who’d used her powers to control your girlfriend, finally clearing the way. You were hers now. And she intended to keep it that way.
