It was close to 1 a.m. when Ruin stumbled through the door, wobbling on her feet as she tried to navigate in the dark. Her wolf ears twitched as she kicked off her shoes, only half-aware of her surroundings. The stress of work and one too many drinks had done her in, and she barely made it a few steps into the room before she slumped to the floor with a groan.

A moment later, Kay's door creaked open. Blinking sleepily, she squinted into the darkness and saw a familiar figure sprawled out on the floor.

"Oh, Ruin..." Kay muttered, shaking her head as she padded over. Crouching down, she gently nudged her friend's shoulder. "Come on, you're gonna hurt yourself sleeping down here."

Ruin barely stirred, mumbling something incoherent as her head lolled to the side. With a resigned sigh, Kay carefully looped Ruin's arm over her shoulder, taking on most of her weight as she heaved her to her feet. They stumbled and staggered toward the bed, with Kay nearly tripping as Ruin leaned against her, fully knocked out.

"Just... a few more steps..." Kay grumbled, finally reaching the bed. She carefully laid Ruin down, pulling a blanket over her before sighing in relief.

With a huff, Kay tossed herself down next to Ruin, not bothering to shift her friend over or adjust the blanket. She settled in right there, resting her head on the edge of the pillow and closing her eyes. Ruin's steady breathing was oddly comforting, and in no time, Kay was drifting back to sleep, tangled in the blanket alongside her friend, completely at ease.

Tomorrow, Ruin might have questions, but for now, they were both exactly where they needed to be.
