It was 3 days before the JYP auditions and Minho and Seungmin were training nonstop. Seungmin was in one room practicing his vocals while Minho was in another room practicing his dancing.
They helped each other from time to time like when Seungmin needed help in learning this new dance or Minho needed singing advice. They had been training vigorously since they left the cafe 4 days ago.
Seungmin was thinking of singing "Old Song" by Kim Dongyul because he thought it was very beautiful and shows his voice really well, plus it was in a comfortable vocal range for him. He was also going to rap a small section.
Meanwhile Minho was going to go for a dance + sing to "Thought of You" by John Park. Finally it was the day of the auditions and Seungmin and Minho were really nervous. They walked in together and saw a huge crowd of people. Seungmin's hands were shaking badly and Minho noticed.
Minho cupped Seungmin's hands and brought it to his head. "Don't worry, you're going to do great" Minho said looking up at Seungmin. Seungmin sighed shakily and nodded his head.
They took a seat and waited for about an hour. After a long time Seungmin's number was called 1023.
Seungmin had mentioned to Minho that they were destined to meet because Minho was born on October 23rd like his number but Minho just laughed.
"No silly, my Birthdays October 25th. But I think I was still destined to meet you" Minho said smiling "Good luck" he said as Seungmin was going off into the room. After Seungmin was done Minho was called over.
As Seungmin and Minho were heading out of the JYP building they bumped into someone else walking in.
"Oh, sorry about that" the person said "Are you here for the auditions? My names Chan, nice to meet you" "Ah, nice to meet you sunbae" Minho and Seungmin said at the same time bowing.
"Now, no need to be formal. I'm only a trainee for now. I hope to see you in the JYP building soon!" Chan said cheerfully "T-thanks" Seungmin managed to say before Chan ran into the JYP building waving at both of them before going completely inside.
"Woa, he seemed so cool" Seungmin said still looking fondly at the last place Chan was. Minho clapped his hands in front of Seungmin's face "Hey! I'm cooler and way better looking!" Minho said doing aegyo.
Seungmin laughed and patted Minho on the back and they walked back home together. A few days later they got a call from the JYP headquarters "Hello?" Seungmin answered "Hi, is this Kim Seungmin?" the agent said into the phone
"Ah, yes. Who is this?" Seungmin wondered "Oh, should I introduce myself. I'm an agent that works for JYP Entertainment and I'm here to tell you that you have been accepted into JYP Entertainment as a trainee. You were 2nd place in our 13th audition. Welcome to JYP Entertainment" The agent answered.
Seungmin was stunned, "Wait, we got in?! Oh my gosh thank yo-" "Wait, what do you mean we? Oh, that other dude that was with you. Umm, well I'm sorry to say this but we haven't decided with him yet. We'll call him when we are sure though but right now you should pack your things and come to the JYP building" the agent said sadly
"What?! I'm not coming without Minho!" Seungmin said desperately. Minho heard the commotion and he walked out of his room to see what Seungmin was whining about.
"I'm not going to JYP without Minho!" Seungmin said on the verge of tears.
Minho quickly ran to Seungmin and took the phone "Ah, yes this is Lee Minho. I'll make sure to send him to the JYP Building immediatly. I thank you for telling us this. Goodbye" Minho said as he ended the call while trying to fend off Seungmin trying to desperately grab the phone and crying.
"No, I can't go! I can't go! Not without you". Seungmin pleaded crying as Minho started to pack his stuff for him.
Minho turned around and held Seungmin's shoulders. "Hey, hey, hey, look at me. Look at me. You'll become an amazing star, what you've always wanted. Don't lose this opportunity just because of me" Minho said calmly
"But-" Seungmin started to say but Minho spoke again "I'll come find you when you're a big star, ok?" "I'll come to all of your concerts and cheer you on all the time, ok?" Minho said, his eyes glassy.
He quickly wiped away a stray tear from his face and turned around to keep packing Seungmin's stuff. Seungmin was about to protest again but instead he just gave up and slowly back-hugged Minho.
"I'm gonna miss you so much hyung. Thank you for everything" Seungmin said as his voice was breaking again.
Minho chuckled happily and hugged Seungmins arms too. After a few hours of packing, it was finally time for Seungmin to leave. They got into the car and Minho informed the JYP agent that they were on their way and the agent told them to wait in the front parking and guards will escort Seungmin into the building.
Minho agreed and ended the call. Once they got there,5 Seungmin and Minho hugged one last time and then Seungmin got out to find bodyguards already waiting for him.
They took everything out but then Seungmin stopped one bodyguard from taking his guitar.
"Wait, keep that in the car." He told the bodyguard. Minho looked confused and asked "Seungmin, what are you doing? You need that guitar!" Seungmin just smiled "Give this back to me when you see me again."
Minho and Seungmin's eyes went glassy for a bit but then they waved and said goodbye one last time. After that Seungmin and Minho wouldn't see each other for about a year.
