Hunk screams and I scurry to get up and reach the boy as he falls to the ground. Once I'm close enough I start to notice the colour of his clothing and slow my speed.

"Is that what I think it is?" Hunk says after he's calmed down and follows me.

"It's exactly what you think it is, the fire nation colours" I say looking at the boy on the floor wearing a mix of red, orange and black clothing.

"What should we do?" Hunk says confused

"I'm not sure, this could be a trap, we need to stay alert" I look around scanning the area for any more Fire Nation people

Hunk calls for both lions to come closer. Once the boy fell to the ground they stopped growling, and as I finish my look around I don't see anything but snowy mountains.

"I think the coast is clear for now, let's see if he's alive and ask him some questions"

"Lance, we should just leave, if he's dead that's a good thing isn't it?"

"I mean I guess but aren't you a little concerned that there's a fire nation member close to our village. We need to find out why he's here and if there are more coming" I say as I kneel down by the boy

Since I'm this close to him now I can see that he looks about Hunk and I's age, and his chest is rising slowly meaning he's still breathing.

"He's not dead, help me get him on Blue and we'll take him back to the village where your dad can help us figure all this out" I say starting to slide my hands under the boys knees and back

Hunk sighs dramatically before he walks over to help me lift the boy onto Blue.

"I'm just letting you know now that this is a terrible idea" Hunk says walking towards Yellow and hopping on

"Yeah yeah, let's just go" I reply

After securing the boy on Blue so that he doesn't fall I hop on myself and Hunk and I make our way back down the mountain and towards our village.

—-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Once we get back to the village it's pure chaos, half the village is wandering around outside and sees what I'm carrying on my lion. The hushed tones of the villagers don't go unnoticed by Hunks dad as we get closer to his family tents.

Hunk's dad appears from his tent with his eyebrows raised.

"What do you have there boy?" He says to me

"We found him stuck in a ball of magma outside the village" Hunk replies for me as I hop off Blue and grab the boy down

"In a ball of magma? How is that even possible?"

"All questions I'd like to have answered as well Ala" I say to Hunks dad as I approach him with the Fire Nation boy

"Is he from the Fire Nation" Ala says in a hushed tone

"Yes, I thought it best to bring him to you since you're like the smartest one here" I say

"Okay okay, bring him inside. Hunk go get Patty, this boy looks to be unconscious and hurt, we'll need her expertise to wake him up" Ala says to Hunk and he pulls back the living room curtain

Hunk gets back on Yellow and rides towards my family tents as Ala and I enter the tent.

"Ala, do you think this is a trap set by the Fire Nation?" I ask concerned once I set the boy down on the couch

"Not likely, see his clothes" He says gesturing to the boys clothing, I nod my head "This is the old Fire Nation clothing style, when I was young and went to my first festival this is what they wore, now the Fire Nation wear almost completely black clothing with a fire symbol in red on the backs of all their clothing"

"I'm confused, why was he wearing a uniform from 43 years ago?"

"Where is the boy?" My grandma says marching into the room "Oh you two, just standing over this poor boy and not even checking if he's okay"

Ala and I fumble our words trying to defend ourselves while my grandma shoos us from in front of the boy so she can work her magic. Well not actual magic, she's a doctor so she'll know how to help him.

"Lance fetch me some ice from the iceberg" Grandma says to me as she puts a pillow under the boys head

I make my way out of the tent and walk towards the iceberg in the middle of the village. Grandma uses this ice to turn back into water, and that water heals and restores things. Very useful for medicinal purposes.

I make my way back towards the living tent once I've collected the ice, when I'm almost to the curtain I hear a big crash coming from inside and run into the tent.

I see my grandma on the floor, Hunk checking on her and Ala having a face off with the now awake Fire Nation boy. I drop the ice onto the floor and walk towards the Fire Nation boy with my arms up ready to bend.

"Who are you people!" The boy screams

"Who are we?! Who are you!?" I scream back

"Where's Cerise!"

"Who?!"

"Okay enough with this back and forth" Ala says interrupting this boy and I's argument "We all need to calm down and figure out what's going on"

"The boy needs to sit down, he should not be exerting himself after being unconscious and encased in magma for who knows how long" I hear grandma say and look towards her as Hunk helps her up

My anger from earlier comes back "You hurt my grandma!"

"Lance calm down" Ala says putting his hand on my chest to stop me from advancing on the boy

"No, he knocked her down"

"Lance, I'm fine, and it was not the boys fault. I just got startled when he suddenly awoke and sat up. I tripped and fell"

I look from my grandma back to the boy stepping back a bit but still glaring at him. He shrinks back into the corner even more and looks at the ground holding himself.

"Do you wanna explain why you are in Water Tribe territory boy?" Ala says

The boy shakes his head.

"If you don't tell us, we'll be forced to hand you over to the tribe elders who will most likely kill you"

The boy looks up shocked "No please, I don't want to die"

"Then tell us what happened" My grandma says in a soothing tone making her way over to the couch

She motions for the boy to sit with her and he slowly approaches the couch and sits on the other end of it. Ala, Hunk and I walk around the couch to the front.

Hunk leans over to me and whispers "Told you this was a bad idea" I nudge him with my elbow

"I-I'm not sure how I got stuck in that ball of magma you two found me in" He says looking from me to Hunk "But I was told to run away, so I got into a small boat and just sailed in any direction"

"Who told you to run?" Grandma asks

"My older sister, the Fire Lord had discovered something and my family was in danger. She told me to escape and run as far away as I could" The boy says getting a sad look in his eyes

"Why was your family in danger if you don't mind me asking" Grandma says scooting a bit closer to the boy

He turns towards her and looks into her eyes for what feels like hours but is really only a couple of seconds and says the last thing I would have expected.

"They found out I was the Avatar"
